Antibacterial nanoagents with well-controlled structures are greatly desired to address the challenges of bacterial infections. In this study, a featherlike tellurium-selenium heterostructural nanoadjuvant (TeSe HNDs) was created. TeSe HNDs produced O and had high photothermal conversion efficiency when stimulated with 808 nm near-infrared (NIR) light. To create a synergistic treatment system (TeSe-ICG) with better photothermal and photodynamic capabilities, the photosensitizer indocyanine green (ICG) was then added. With a bactericidal rate of more than 99%, the NIR-mediated TeSe-ICG demonstrated an efficient bactericidal action against both Gram-negative bacteria () and Gram-positive bacteria (). In addition, TeSe-ICG was also effective in treating wound infections and could effectively promote wound healing without obvious toxic side effects. In conclusion, TeSe-ICG is expected to be a good candidate for the treatment of bacterial infections.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) complex, responsible for tuberculosis (TB) infection, continues to be a predominant global cause of mortality due to intricate host-pathogen interactions that affect disease progression. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), essential posttranscriptional regulators, have become pivotal modulators of these relationships. Recent findings indicate that miRNAs actively regulate immunological responses to Mtb complex by modulating autophagy, apoptosis, and immune cell activities.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and transfer RNA-derived stress-induced RNAs (tiRNAs) have emerged as crucial players in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in various cellular processes, including immunity and host defense against infections. In recent years, increasing evidence has highlighted their complex role in influencing the host response during viral and bacterial infections. miRNAs have been shown to play multiple roles in host-pathogen interaction like TLR activation and altered disease virulence during bacterial infections.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a non-motile, encapsulated, environmental gram-negative bacterium. Once the bacteria have infiltrated the body, they can display substantial degrees of resistance to drugs and virulence. Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) are most typically seen in K.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are recognized as the second most common medical condition, following respiratory infections. Despite the availability of numerous efficacious antibiotics for the management of UTIs, the rising incidence of bacterial resistance presents significant challenges in the treatment of these infections. Bacteria are endowed with the ability to reproduce and develop resistance mechanisms against antibiotics.

The rising global incidence of syphilis underscores the risk of transmission through blood transfusions. Treponema pallidum, the pathogen responsible for syphilis, represents a major public health challenge. Accurate detection is essential for controlling the disease, particularly in asymptomatic blood donors.
