pneumonia (PCP) is a rare, life-threatening opportunistic fungal infection that rarely occurs with CD4 counts greater than 200 cells/mm3. We present a case of PCP in a young male who presented with fever, weakness, dyspnea, and a non-productive cough. He was initially treated for community-acquired pneumonia but was then noted to be HIV positive with signs of immunosuppression such as oral thrush. The CD4 count was found to be very high, at 646 cells/mm3 and 281 cells/mm3 on repeat. The patient was treated with trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) and fluconazole and further started on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) with TMP/SMX as a means of secondary prophylaxis in the outpatient setting.

Introduction: Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) has been adopted for cervical cancer screening in Kenya and other Low-Middle Income Countries despite providing suboptimal results among HIV-infected women. It is mostly performed by nurses in health centers. Innovative ways of improving the performance of VIA in HIV-infected women are desired.

Objective: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a complex and multifaceted disease that is increasingly prevalent globally. The involvement of immune cells in the tumour microenvironment has been linked to the progression of HCC, but the exact cause-and-effect relationship is not yet clear. In this study, we utilise Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the potential causal links between immune factors and the development of HCC.

Background: HIV infection has been associated with an increased risk of cancer development and Kaposi's sarcoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and invasive cervical cancers have been a manifestation of AIDS. With the advent of antiretroviral therapy, a collateral appearance of non-AIDS defining cancers (NADC) has been observed in HIV positive patients.
Methods: From January 1997 to December 2022, we performed an observational cross-sectional study, involving HIV-infected outpatients with both AIDS-defining cancers (ADC) and NADC, followed up in a tertiary hospital in Italy.

Design: Prospective longitudinal cohort study in Botswana.
Methods: From February 2021 to August 2022, baseline HPV self-sampling was offered to women with and without HIV.
