Natural gas plays a crucial role in daily and industrial production, but the impurities contained in natural gas limit its further use. It is very important to develop adsorbents that can separate CH from multicomponent mixtures, but there are still many challenges and problems. Herein, a novel porous MOF {[Mn(pbdia)(CO)(HO)] ↔ 5HO ↔ 2DMF} (pbdia = 2,2'-(5-carboxy-1,3-phenylene)bis(oxy) diterephthalic acid) was successfully synthesized based on a flexible pentacarboxylic acid ligand and a unique pentanuclear Mn(COO)CO cluster. The MOF reveals a 3D porous structure with 2D intersecting channels, which shows high CH, CH, and CO adsorption capacities and affinities over CH. Moreover, the ideal adsorption solution theory selectivities of CH/CH, CH/CH, and CO/CH can reach 263.0, 27.0, and 7.7, respectively, suggesting a potential for removing the low content of CH, CH, and CO from pipeline natural gas, which was further confirmed by breakthrough curves and GCMC simulations.

Gualou-Xiebai-Banxia (GXB) decoction shows potential for treating myocardial ischemia (MI), although its underlying mechanism is not fully understood. In this study, a multimodal metabolomics approach, combining gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and H-NMR, was employed to investigate the cardioprotective effects of GXB in a rat model of myocardial ischemia induced by ligation. ELISA assays and HE staining demonstrated that GXB effectively reduced myocardial injury, oxidative stress markers, and myocardial fibrosis.

The Canadian province of Alberta contains substantial oilsands reservoirs, consisting of bitumen, clay and sand. Extracting oil involves separating bitumen from inorganic particles using hot water and chemical diluents, resulting in liquid tailings waste with ecotoxicologically significant compounds. Ongoing efforts aim to reclaim tailings-affected areas, with protist colonisation serving as one assessment method of reclamation progress.

Automated ultrasonic testing (AUT) is a critical tool for infrastructure evaluation in industries such as oil and gas, and, while skilled operators manually analyze complex AUT data, artificial intelligence (AI)-based methods show promise for automating interpretation. However, improving the reliability and effectiveness of these methods remains a significant challenge. This study employs the Segment Anything Model (SAM), a vision foundation model, to design an AI-assisted tool for weld defect detection in real-world ultrasonic B-scan images.

In the present study, we analyzed the bioactive curcuminoids content in eight capsules (DS-1-DS-7 and DS-9), one tablet (DS-8), three ground turmeric samples (DS-10-DS-12), and three ground turmeric rhizomes (TR-1, TR-2, and TR-3). Initial screening with infrared and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy coupled with a principal component analysis (PCA) revealed distinct differences between the samples analyzed. Hence, targeted and untargeted analyses were performed using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry detections.
