A 78-year-old male patient presented with dyspnea, loss of appetite, and weight loss. Workup and imaging showed suspected malignant lung lesion. Biopsy was done and showed features of pulmonary enteric adenocarcinoma (PEAC). This is a very rare disease and its diagnosis is challenging.

alpha toxin (CPA) is an important enterotoxemic pathogen linked to gastrointestinal disorders and previously associated with pulmonary disease in other mammals. A young female neotropical otter presented with lethargy, anorexia and steatorrhea, which developed within 24 hours. Veterinary care was provided under anesthesia, during which dehydration, intestinal hypermotility and pulmonary crackling sounds were identified.

Constipation is found in individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy. Although generally a benign condition, it may lead to life-threatening intestinal obstruction, with or without volvulus, or to stercoral ulceration with enteritis and/or perforation. Two unusual cases of lethal chronic constipation are reported to demonstrate other very rare fatal mechanisms that may occur.

Introduction: Maternal nutrition during pregnancy critically influences offspring development and immune function. One-carbon metabolites (OCM) are epigenetic modifiers that may modulate antimicrobial peptide (AMP) expression, which is vital for innate immunity. This study investigated the effects of maternal nutrient restriction and OCM supplementation on mRNA expression of AMP in fetal and maternal lung, mammary gland, and small intestine of beef cattle.

Neuro-immune interactions within barrier organs, such as lung, gut, and skin, are crucial in regulating tissue homeostasis, inflammatory responses, and host defence. Our rapidly advancing understanding of peripheral neuroimmunology is transforming the field of barrier tissue immunology, offering a fresh perspective for developing therapies for complex chronic inflammatory disorders affecting barrier organs. However, most studies have primarily examined interactions between the peripheral nervous system and the immune system from a neuron-focused perspective, while glial cells, the nonneuronal cells of the nervous system, have received less attention.

Mucormycosis caused by is a rare opportunistic infection in patients with hematological malignancies (HM), with high mortality rates. Herein, we first report a case of pulmonary mucormycosis (PM) with in a 25-year-old male recently diagnosed with T-lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL). The diagnosis was established through chest computed tomography (CT), metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of blood and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), as well as histopathological examination.
