AI Article Synopsis

  • Understanding how microbes interact with their hosts is crucial for preventing diseases spread by mosquitoes.
  • The study presents the genome sequence of a specific microbe strain (SC1) that was isolated from mosquitoes that fed on human blood.
  • The genome shows features related to aerobic respiration and potential mechanisms for antibiotic resistance.

Article Abstract

Understanding microbe-host interactions is key to combating disease transmission by mosquitoes. Here, we report the genome sequence of strain SC1 isolated from a human-blood-fed mosquito crop. Metabolic pathway characteristics of aerobic respiration were present in the genome, along with multiple putative antibiotic resistance mechanisms.
