Values of cell membranes permeability coefficients for water and molecules of cryoprotective agents (CPAs) are the necessary characteristics for developing physical-mathematical models describing mass transfer processes through cell membranes in order to predict optimal cell cooling rates. We carried out a comparative analysis of the permeability coefficients of mouse oocyte membranes for molecules of water, ethylene glycol (EG), propane-1,2-diol (1,2-PD) and dimethyl sulfoxide (MeSO), determined by applying the classical Kedem-Katchalsky model, which considers only the penetration of non-electrolyte molecules (water and CPA) through the membrane, and the model developed by us, which takes into account the transmembrane transfer of ions and the associated changes in the transmembrane electric potential. We shown that calculations based on the developed modified model provide lower values of the permeability coefficients of the oocyte membrane for water and CPA molecules. What is important that the obtained by our modified model permeability coefficients for water molecules do not depend on the type of cryoprotectant, while the application of the classical model both in our studies and works of other authors always gave different values of these coefficients in solutions with different cryoprotectants. Our modified model also makes it possible to determine the dynamics of the transmembrane electric potential of the cell under the conditions of transmembrane mass transfer and the duration of the membrane being influenced by the changes in electric potential, that is a parameter that can directly affect the viability of cells.

To investigate the influence of cations on the microstructural characteristics of electrochemical reinforcement in soft clay, a study was conducted using three different cationic salt solutions-NaCl, CaCl₂, and FeCl₃-for grouting treatment. Four sets of indoor experiments were performed to examine the reinforcement mechanism of the electrochemical method. The findings indicate that increasing the valence of injected cations significantly affects the electrochemical reinforcement effect and the soil's microstructural properties.

In order to investigate the influence of shear on contact characteristics and fluid flow evolution of rough rock fractures, a series of shear-flow tests were carried out by numerical experiments. Firstly, a sandstone specimen with a rough fracture was made in the laboratory, and the numerical model of the fracture was reconstructed in FLAC3D software. Experiments were conducted to investigate the depth of penetration of the fracture under different normal stress (1, 3, and 5 MPa) and shear displacement (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm).

The valorization of ultra-concentrated seawater brines, named bitterns, requires preliminary purification processes, such as membrane filtration, before they can be fully exploited. This study investigates the performance of an ultrafiltration pilot plant aimed at separating organic matter and large particles from real bitterns. An empirical model for the bittern viscosity was developed to better characterize the membrane.

In a previous study, we developed an integrated reaction system combining NH decomposition and CO methanation within a membrane reactor, significantly enhancing reactor performance through efficient H separation. Ru/Ba/γ-AlO and Ru/ZrO were employed as catalysts for each reaction. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of our results, they were validated through 1D models using FlexPDE Professional Version 7.

Methods: This retrospective analysis was conducted on 71 patients with end-stage kidney disease who underwent hemodialysis at Beilun District People's Hospital from September 2021 to September 2022. The patients were divided into two groups based on the occurrence of CEs: a cardiovascular event group and a non-cardiovascular event group.
