Superconductivty has recently been induced in MXenes through surface modification. However, the previous reports have mostly been based on powders or cold-pressed pellets, with no known reports on the intrinsic superconsucting properties of MXenes at the nanoale. Here, it is developed a high-temperature atomic exchange process in NH atmosphere which induces superconductivity in either singleflakes or thin films of Nb CT MXene. The exchange process between nitrogen atoms and fluorine, carbon, and oxygen atoms in the MXene lattice and related structural adjustments are studied using both experiments and density functional theory. Using either single-flake or thin-film devices, an anisotropic magnetic response of the 2D superconducting transformation has been successfully revealed. The anisotropic superconductivity is further demonstrated using superconducting thin films uniformly deposited over a 4 in. wafers, which opens up the possibility of scalable MXene-based superconducting devices.

This study delves into the interplay of temperature, composition, tortuosity, and electrostatic interactions on ion diffusion within cation exchange membranes. It explores the temperature dependence (16-60 °C) of the self-diffusion coefficients (SDCs) of Ba and Eu ions within the Nafion 117 cation exchange membrane, particularly in the presence of Na ions. Radiotracer techniques and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were employed to investigate these SDCs.

Protein catalysis and allostery require the atomic-level orchestration and motion of residues and ligand, solvent and protein effector molecules. However, the ability to design protein activity through precise protein-solvent cooperative interactions has not yet been demonstrated. Here we report the design of 14 membrane receptors that catalyse G protein nucleotide exchange through diverse engineered allosteric pathways mediated by cooperative networks of intraprotein, protein-ligand and -solvent molecule interactions.

This prediction evaluates the different physical characteristics of magnetic materials XFeO (X = Mg, Ca and Sr) by using density functional theory (DFT). The generalized gradient approximation (GGA) approach is chosen to define the exchange and correlation potential. The structural study of the compounds XFeO (X = Mg, Ca and Sr) shows that the ferromagnetic phase is the more stable ground state, where all the parameters of the network are given at equilibrium.

A hybrid analytical-numerical integration scheme is introduced to accelerate the Fock build in self-consistent field (SCF) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. To evaluate the Coulomb matrix [], the density matrix is first decomposed into two parts, the superposition of atomic density matrices and the rest = -. While [] is evaluated analytically, [] is evaluated fully numerically [with the multipole expansion of the Coulomb potential (MECP)] during the SCF iterations.

Approximately half of all births globally occur in the Asia Pacific Region. Concerted efforts to support local activities aimed at developing national newborn screening (NBS) have been ongoing for almost 30 years, first by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and then through volunteer efforts. Sustainable newborn bloodspot screening (NBS) continues to be initiated and develop in many of the countries with developing economies in the region.
