AI Article Synopsis

  • * The study enhances LSTM efficiency with a simulated annealing algorithm to optimize hyperparameters and uses correlation analysis for feature engineering with economic indicators like oil, gold, and silver prices as inputs.
  • * Forecasting was done over three different time periods, yielding low forecast errors and demonstrating improved accuracy compared to prior research, providing a solid foundation for future copper price analysis.

Article Abstract

Copper is an important mineral and fluctuations in copper prices can affect the stable functioning of some countries' economies. Policy makers, futures traders and individual investors are very concerned about copper prices. In a recent paper, we use an artificial intelligence model long short-term memory (LSTM) to predict copper prices. To improve the efficiency of long short-term memory (LSTM) model, we introduced a simulated annealing (SA) algorithm to find the best combination of hyperparameters. The feature engineering problem of the AI model is then solved by correlation analysis. Three economic indicators, West Texas Intermediate Oil Price, Gold Price and Silver Price, which are highly correlated with copper prices, were selected as inputs to be used in the training and forecasting model. Three different copper price time periods, namely 485, 363 and 242 days, were chosen for the model forecasts. The forecast errors are 0.00195, 0.0019 and 0.00097, respectively. Compared with the existing literature, the prediction results of this paper are more accurate and less error. The research in this paper provides a reliable reference for analyzing future copper price changes.

It has long been assumed that academic oncology practices are disadvantaged in value-based payment programs, due to patient complexity and research costs. This assumption not been tested. The Oncology Care Model (OCM) was a Medicare alternative payment model, which sought to curb costs while improving care.

Europe's extra-territorial mineral trade and clean energy metamorphosis in a landscape of multifaceted risks.

J Environ Manage

Despite modest reserves of energy transition minerals (ETMs) like copper, nickel, and aluminium, European nations largely depend on imports, a dynamic often marred by financial uncertainties, price volatility, and geopolitical tensions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the response of extra-territorial ETM imports to the clean energy objectives of 24 European nations, taking into account financial stress, mineral price volatility, and geopolitical instability. We analyse monthly data from January 2005 to October 2022, using the quantiles via moments (QvM) and the linear models multiway fixed effects (LMFE) approaches to account for heterogeneity, spatial dependence, heteroscedasticity, and endogeneity in the data.

A green and cost-effective sonochemical synthetic method was followed for coating silver-modified copper oxide (Ag-CuO) nanoparticles (NPs) on disposable surgical mask. The NP-coated masks were systematically characterized using XRD and FT-IR for understanding the structural and surface functionalities. In addition, the field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis showed the homogeneous coating of Ag-CuO NPs over the mask fibers.

Water Spillover to Expedite Two-Electron Oxygen Reduction.

Limited by the activity-selectivity trade-off relationship, the electrochemical activation of small molecules (like O, N and CO) rapidly diminishes Faradaic efficiencies with elevated current densities (particularly at ampere levels). Nevertheless, some catalysts can circumvent this restriction in a two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e ORR), a sustainable pathway for activating O to hydrogen peroxide (HO). Here we report 2e ORR expedited in a fluorine-bridged copper metal-organic framework catalyst, arising from the water spillover effect.

Introduction: As the scale of cultivation expands, challenges such as substrate shortages and rising production costs in mushroom cultivation have become increasingly prominent. Fruit tree pruning residue has the potential to serve as an alternative substrate, offering a sustainable solution. This study evaluates the feasibility of incorporating various types of fruit tree pruning residues into cultivation.
