Background: Patients diagnosed with esophageal mucosal bridges often experience symptoms such as chest pain and dysphagia, which pose considerable challenges for endoscopic surgical interventions.
Case Summary: We present a case involving early-stage esophageal cancer discovered in a resting room, notable for the rare manifestation of esophageal mucosal bridging. Following a comprehensive multidisciplinary discussion and the development of a treatment strategy, we proceeded with endoscopic submucosal dissection for the patient.

Background: This study investigates the feasibility and early outcomes of early myocardial reperfusion in patients with type A aortic dissection (TAAD), evaluating its effectiveness and potential benefits compared to traditional cardioplegic arrest techniques.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 168 patients diagnosed with TAAD who underwent surgery at the General Hospital of the Northern Theater Command in China from January 2021 to July 2024. Patients were divided into two groups: early myocardial reperfusion (EMR group, = 66) and cardioplegic arrest (CA group, = 102).

Background: Periprosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a major complication of total joint replacement surgeries. This study investigated the enhancement of mechanical properties and antibiotic release in ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) through the encapsulation of submicron gentamicin sulfate (GS) particles, addressing the critical need for improved implant materials in orthopaedic surgery, particularly in managing PJIs.
Methods: The present study involved embedding submicron GS particles into UHMWPE flakes at concentrations of 2% to 10% by weight.

Disposable filtering face piece respirators (FFRs) are not approved for reuse as standard of care. However, lessons learnt from the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, FFRs decontamination and reuse may be needed as crisis capacity strategy to ensure availability in medical facilities. We studied a decontamination methodology based on atmospheric pressure plasma technology, which allows for rapid, contact-free decontamination without utilisation of harmful chemicals, and suitable to access small pores and microscopic filters openings.

Objectives: From January 2020 to the end of August 2020, preliminary research gathered data about the need for and the feasibility of an ADEA-led joint Climate Study of dental schools and allied dental programs in the United States and Canada. Informed by these findings, the first ever ADEA-led joint Climate Study took place in 2022. The objectives of this manuscript were to describe the timeline of this climate study and provide information about its methodology, specifically about (a) who participated in this research, (b) what was assessed, (c) how the study was conducted, and (d) how the results were communicated.
