The channel-hopping-based rendezvous is essential to alleviate the problem of under-utilization and scarcity of the spectrum in cognitive radio networks. It dynamically allows unlicensed secondary users to schedule rendezvous channels using the assigned hopping sequence to guarantee the self-organization property in a limited time. In this paper, we use the interleaving technique to cleverly construct a set of asynchronous channel-hopping sequences consisting of sequences of period xN2 with flexible parameters, which can generate sequences of different lengths. By this advantage, the new designed CHSs can be used to adapt to the demands of various communication scenarios. Furthermore, we focus on the improved maximum-time-to-rendezvous and maximum-first-time-to-rendezvous performance of the new construction compared to the prior research at the same sequence length. The new channel-hopping sequences ensure that rendezvous occurs between any two sequences and the rendezvous times are random and unpredictable when using licensed channels under asynchronous access, although the full degree-of-rendezvous is not satisfied. Our simulation results show that the new construction is more balanced and unpredictable between the maximum-time-to-rendezvous and the mean and variance of time-to-rendezvous.

Background: Individuals with hearing impairments may face hindrances in health care assistance, which may significantly impact the prognosis and the incidence of complications and iatrogenic events. Therefore, the development of automatic communication systems to assist the interaction between this population and health care workers is paramount.
Objective: This study aims to systematically review the evidence on communication systems using human-computer interaction techniques developed for deaf people who communicate through sign language that are already in use or proposed for use in health care contexts and have been tested with human users or videos of human users.

Social media is profoundly changing our society with its unprecedented spreading power. Due to the complexity of human behaviors and the diversity of massive messages, the information-spreading dynamics are complicated, and the reported mechanisms are different and even controversial. Based on data from mainstream social media platforms, including WeChat, Weibo, and Twitter, cumulatively encompassing a total of 7.

Social media is a popular, poorly vetted health care information source. Vision therapy is a controversial topic that some claim can benefit patients with visual processing disorders, despite no supporting evidence. The authors assessed quality of Instagram (Meta Platforms) posts tagged with #visiontherapy, finding few high-quality posts and no correlation between engagement and quality.

Background: The process of aging in Chinese society is accompanied by the concurrent development of the Internet. In recent years, the influence of Internet use on the activities of older adults has attracted growing interest and is now a significant focus of both public health and gerontological research. Nevertheless, there is a need for further empirical research in this area.

Background: Population size estimation (PSE) for key populations is needed to inform HIV programming and policy.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the utility of applying a recently proposed method using Google Trend (GT) internet search data to generate PSE (Google Trends Population Size Estimate [GTPSE]) for men who have sex with men (MSM) in 54 countries in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
Methods: We examined GT relative search volumes (representing the relative internet search frequency of specific search terms) for "porn" and, as a comparator term, "gay porn" for the year 2020.
