AI Article Synopsis

  • Eight species from the Lentitheciaceae family were found in five plateau lakes in Yunnan Province, China.
  • The study identified a new genus, two new species, three new records, and also included three known species based on characteristics and genetic data analysis.
  • Morphological traits and phylogenetic analysis were essential in classifying the fungi collected from Luguhu, Qiluhu, Xingyunhu, Cibihu, and Xihu lakes.

Article Abstract

During the investigation of lignicolous freshwater fungi in plateau lakes in Yunnan Province, China, eight Lentitheciaceae species were collected from five lakes viz. Luguhu, Qiluhu, Xingyunhu, Cibihu, and Xihu lake. Based on morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, LSU, SSU, and sequence data, a new genus , two new species (, and ), three new records (, and ) and three known species viz. , and are reported.
