CO photocatalytic conversion into value-added fuels through solar energy is a promising way of storing renewable energy while simultaneously reducing the concentration of CO in the atmosphere. Lead-based halide perovskites have recently shown great potential in various applications such as solar cells, optoelectronics, and photocatalysis. Even though they show high performance, the high toxicity of Pb along with poor stability under ambient conditions restrains the application of these materials in photocatalysis. In this respect, we developed an in situ assembly strategy to fabricate the lead-free double perovskite CsAgBiBr on a 2D bismuthene nanosheet prepared by a ligand-assisted reprecipitation method for a liquid-phase CO photocatalytic reduction reaction. The composite improved the production and selectivity of the eight-electron CH pathway compared with the two-electron CO pathway, storing more of the light energy harvested by the photocatalyst. The CsAgBiBr/bismuthene composite shows a photocatalytic activity of 1.49(±0.16) μmol g h CH, 0.67(±0.14) μmol g h CO, and 0.75(±0.20) μmol g h H, with a CH selectivity of 81(±1)% on an electron basis with 1 sun. The improved performance is attributed to the enhanced charge separation and suppressed electron-hole recombination due to good interfacial contact between the perovskite and bismuthene promoted by the synthesis method.

Background: To address the health inequity caused by decentralized management, China has introduced a provincial pooling system for urban employees' basic medical insurance. This paper proposes a research framework to evaluate similar policies in different contexts. This paper adopts a mixed-methods approach to more comprehensively and precisely capture the causal effects of the policy.

Background: Ovarian cancer (OC), particularly high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC), is the leading cause of mortality from gynecological malignancies worldwide. Despite the initial effectiveness of treatment, acquired resistance to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPis) represents a major challenge for the clinical management of HGSOC, highlighting the necessity for the development of novel therapeutic strategies. This study investigated the role of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase 3 (PFKFB3), a pivotal regulator of glycolysis, in PARPi resistance and explored its potential as a therapeutic target to overcome PARPi resistance.

Background: Drug-drug interactions (DDIs) especially antagonistic ones present significant risks to patient safety, underscoring the urgent need for reliable prediction methods. Recently, substructure-based DDI prediction has garnered much attention due to the dominant influence of functional groups and substructures on drug properties. However, existing approaches face challenges regarding the insufficient interpretability of identified substructures and the isolation of chemical substructures.

Background: Classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia, primarily due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency, leads to impaired cortisol and aldosterone production and excess adrenal androgens. Lifelong glucocorticoid therapy is required, often necessitating supraphysiological doses in youth to manage androgen excess and growth acceleration. These patients experience higher obesity rates, hypertension, and glucose metabolism issues, complicating long-term health management.

Background: Unwarranted clinical variation presents a major challenge in contemporary healthcare, indicating potential inequalities and inefficiencies, and unrealised potential for better outcomes. Despite an increasing focus on unwarranted clinical variation, and consideration of efforts to address this challenge, evidence-based strategies which achieve this are limited. Audit and feedback of healthcare processes (process auditing) and clinician engagement are important tools which may help to reduce unwarranted clinical variation, however their application in maternity care is yet to be thoroughly explored.
