Introduction: Yolk sac tumor is the second most common germ cell ovarian carcinoma. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is proposed as an alternative option for patients with advanced disease who are not eligible for primary debulking. We presented a case with a systematic review of advanced yolk sac tumors of the ovary with poor performance who gain benefit from NACT.

Case Presentation: A 24-year-old female underwent NACT followed by surgery after being diagnosed with an advanced yolk sac tumor. A literature search was done based on the clinical question using the Patient/Problem, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome (PICO) approach. Pubmed and Google Scholar were used to search the literature.

Discussion: Out of 111 manuscripts found, 2 articles were retrieved for detailed evaluation. The patient showed a complete response in tumor size, histopathology, and tumor markers after the NACT procedure followed by surgery.

Conclusions: NACT is a suitable option for advanced yolk sac tumors of the ovary.

Toxic effects of chlorantraniliprole on zebrafish (Danio rerio) at different developmental stages under antibiotic pressure.

Center for Pesticide Research, Department of Applied Chemistry, China Agricultural University, Beijing, 100193, China. Electronic address:

Pesticides and antibiotics have been frequently reported in the environment, but it remains unclear whether antibiotics affect the toxicity of pesticides to aquatic organisms. In this study, the acute, developmental and reproductive toxicity effects of the pesticide chlorantraniliprole on zebrafish at different developmental stages under pressure of ciprofloxacin and erythromycin at environmental concentration were explored. Chlorantraniliprole, ciprofloxacin, and erythromycin are all low toxic to zebrafish (LC > 100 mg/L), and environmental concentrations of antibiotics have no effect on the acute toxicity of chlorantraniliprole to zebrafish.

Germ cell tumors, the most common of the testicular neoplasms, originate from primordial germ cells. These tumors are known for their totipotent nature, capable of differentiating into various cell types. This case report presents a rare occurrence of mucinous cystadenoma in a patient who received chemotherapy for metastatic left non-seminomatous germ cell tumor (NSGCT) of the testis.

Rainbow trout () is a promising cultivable fish species with significant potential for expansion. As a cold-water fish belonging to the Salmonidae family, it requires an optimal temperature range of 10-15°C for optimal growth. This study explores a method for producing sterile rainbow trout with maximum survival rates by using heat shock treatment to enhance growth characteristics and improve aquaculture practices.

A rare case of a pure yolk sac testicular tumour presenting in an adult with learning difficulties is presented. Pure yolk sac tumours are much more common in children, but when they do occur in adults, onset can be both insidious and aggressive. The best practice for identification involves the precise use of ultrasound, blood tests for tumour markers and FDG-PET/CT imaging for staging.

We report a case and follow-up of an adult male with intracranial yolk sac tumor (YST). Initially, the patient presented with abnormal high signals in the right basal ganglia on MRI, misdiagnosed as a cavernous hemangioma. However, within 2 years, the condition rapidly progressed into a large, hypervascular solid neoplasm leading to a basal ganglia hemorrhage.
