Background: A stable and reproducible experimental bacterial pneumonia model postintracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is necessary to help investigating the pathogenesis and novel treatments of Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP).
Aim: To establish a Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia-complicating ICH rat model and an acute lung injury (ALI)-complicating ICH rat model.
Methods: We established two standardized models of post-ICH pneumonia by nasal inoculation with () or intratracheal inoculation with lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

Hydrogen sulfide (HS) is an endogenous gasotransmitter with cardioprotective and antiviral effects. In this work, new cysteine-selective nucleoside-HS-donor hybrid molecules were prepared by conjugating nucleoside biomolecules with a thiol-activatable dithioacetyl group. 5'-Dithioacetate derivatives were synthesized from the canonical nucleosides (uridine, adenosine, cytidine, guanosine and thymidine), and the putative 5'-thio metabolites were also produced from uridine and adenosine.

Introduction: In fast ball sports, such as tennis, when spatiotemporal constraints are high, players have to anticipate the opponent action. Not much is known about how players acquire and improve this ability. The aim of this study was to use an implicit training protocol (no information was given to participants) based on the knowledge of one particular opponent to analyse how experts could improve their anticipation ability.

Background: In China, rising chronic diseases has coincided with the increasing burden of multimorbidity, particularly for vulnerable populations. Limited primary data are available to understand the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity, especially in resource-limited rural areas. This study aims to conduct robust evaluations of the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity among rural adults in China, and to compare the differences in prevalence and patterns when using primary data alone versus in combination with routinely collected data.
