Gas vesicles (GVs) are gas-filled protein nanostructures that can regulate the buoyancy of microorganisms such as cyanobacteria and archaea. Recent studies have shown that GVs have the potential to be used as ultrasound molecular imaging probes in disease diagnosis and treatment. However, the mechanism of the inflation and deflation of GVs remains unclear, which hampers the preservation of GVs and gas replacement. In the present study, the environmental pH value was found to be an important factor in regulating the inflation and deflation of GVs. It can not only regulate the inflation and deflation of GVs to make sp. cells present distinct levitation state, but also regulate the inflation and deflation of purified GVs , and the regulation process is reversible. Our results may provide a technical support for the large-scale production and preservation of biosynthetic ultrasound molecular imaging probes, especially for gas replacement to meet different diagnostic and therapeutic needs, and would facilitate the application of biosynthetic ultrasound molecular imaging probes.

Background: The Modified Inflation-Deflation Method (MIDM) is widely used in China in pulmonary segmentectomies. We optimized the procedure, which was named as Blood Flow Blocking Method (BFBM), also known as "No-Waiting Segmentectomy". This method has produced commendable clinical outcomes in segmentectomies.

Accurate parental praise and criticism congruent with child performance-often ignored-might have lasting impacts on child development. This study explored whether the levels of the accuracy (from deflated to accurate to inflated) of parental praise and criticism perceived by children linked to a risk for their maladjustment (i.e.

Introduction: More than 40% of Americans are considered obese, resulting in annual healthcare costs estimated at $173 billion., Various interventions exist to address obesity including lifestyle modification, medications, and several surgical options. A novel ingestible intragastric balloon that self-deflates and is excreted approximately four months post-ingestion is being used in other countries such as Australia, Mexico, and several European countries.

: Aortic pulse wave velocity (aPWV) is a well-established surrogate marker of arterial stiffness. The Antares algorithm offers a method for determining aPWV from oscillometric blood pressure waveforms without requiring additional inputs. This prospective study aimed to evaluate the association and prognostic value of aPWV, determined by Antares, in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).

Background: The increasing utilization of computed tomography (CT) scans has significantly elevated the detection rate of pulmonary nodules. Pulmonary segmentectomy has become the preferred surgical technique for peripheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) measuring 2 cm or smaller. Various methods for identifying the intersegmental planes (ISPs) are currently employed.
