Zinc (Zn) is one of the most prevalent and essential micronutrients, found in 10% of all human proteins and involved in numerous cellular enzymatic pathways. Zn is important in the neonatal brain, due to its involvement in neurotransmission, synaptic plasticity, and neural signaling. It acts as a neuronal modulator and is highly concentrated in certain brain regions, such as the hippocampus, and the retina.

However, locus-specific epigenetic alterations contributing to cancer initiation and progression remain only partly described, creating knowledge gaps about functionally significant tumor suppressors and underlying mechanisms associated with their inactivation. Here, we show that PAX2 is an endometrial tumor suppressor recurrently inactivated by a distinct epigenetic reprogramming event not associated with promoter hypermethylation.

Materials And Methods: We searched Ovid and other databases for studies on sex differences and cognitive decline, focusing on publications in peer-reviewed informatics journals and conference proceedings from 2000 to 2023. The selected manuscripts were analyzed and summarized through discussion among three reviewers.
