Low-protein (LPRO) diets can effectively reduce feed costs and decrease environmental pollution, making them an important pathway to enhance the sustainability of livestock production. However, they may have adverse effects on the growth performance of broiler chickens, which has limited their widespread application. This study aims to explore the impact of adding protease (PRO) to LPRO diets on the growth performance of broiler chickens, especially under conditions with or without the presence of (BC), in order to provide theoretical support for the scientific application and promotion of LPRO feeds.

Whey proteins, the most abundant proteins in human milk (HM), play a vital role in the growth and development of infants. This review first elaborates on the main components of HM whey proteins, including various proteins with specific functions, and details the functions of these proteins in terms of infant nutrition, immunity, as well as growth and development. Secondly, it analyzes factors that affect HM whey proteins, such as maternal differences, dietary habits, and geographical differences.

The ongoing interplay among plants, insects, and bacteria underscores the intricate balance of defense mechanisms in ecosystems. Regurgitant bacteria directly/indirectly impact plant immune responses, but the underlying mechanism is unclear. Here, we focus on the interaction between regurgitant bacteria, diamondback moth (DBM), and plant.

Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed how well contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) works with CT or MRI imaging to improve outcomes of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for liver cancer tumors that are hard to see on regular ultrasound.
  • It involved comparing two patient groups: those with tumors visible on ultrasound (USC) and those whose tumors were not (USI), focusing on the traits and treatment effects of their liver tumors.
  • The findings showed that while CEUS was more effective at showing details of the tumors, the success rates and survival outcomes for RFA were similar for both groups, indicating that CEUS is a reliable tool for RFA treatment in hard-to-detect liver cancer cases.

Protective Role of Indole-3-Acetic Acid Against Typhimurium: Inflammation Moderation and Intestinal Microbiota Restoration.

State Key Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feeding, College of Animal Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100193, China.

Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), a metabolite derived from microbial tryptophan metabolism, plays a crucial role in regulating intestinal homeostasis. However, the influence and potential applications of IAA in the context of animal pathogen infections remain underexplored. This study investigates the prophylactic effects of IAA pretreatment against typhimurium (ST) SL1344 infection, focusing on its ability to attenuate inflammatory responses, enhance intestinal barrier integrity, inhibit bacterial colonization, and restore colonic microbiota dysbiosis.
