Background: This prospective case series analyzed patients who underwent indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescent lymphography during open inguinal hernia repair. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between ICG leakage and postoperative hydroceles in patients who underwent inguinal hernia repair.
Materials And Methods: Data were analyzed from 40 patients who underwent primary open hernia repair between October 2020 and June 2021 (44 cases in total). Hydroceles were categorized into two types: symptomatic and "ultrasonic" (detected only by ultrasound imaging).
Results: In the univariate analysis, hernia type (p = 0.044) and ICG leakage (p = 0.007) were independent risk factors for postoperative ultrasonic hydroceles. Additionally, mesh type (p = 0.043) and ICG leakage (p = 0.025) were independent risk factors for postoperative symptomatic hydroceles. In the multivariate analysis, ICG leakage (p = 0.034) was an independent risk factor for postoperative ultrasonic hydroceles.
Conclusions: ICG leakage after inguinal hernia repair was independently associated with postoperative ultrasonic and symptomatic hydroceles. These findings suggest a relationship between lymphatic vessel injury and the incidence of postoperative hydroceles.

Background: Neuroendocrine liver metastases (NELM) significantly reduce survival in patients with neuroendocrine tumor. The management of NELM is challenged by a low rate of resectability and a high rate of recurrence. Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging offers potential advantages in real-time tumor visualization and margin assessment.

Background: Conventional right hepatectomy typically involves resection of the right hemiliver, often including partial removal of the caudate lobe. However, recent advancements, particularly in indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging, have allowed for more accurate identification of anatomical boundaries between liver segments. In this context, we present a refined technique for real anatomical right hepatectomy that preserves the caudate lobe, offering enhanced surgical precision and several distinct advantages over traditional methods.

Postoperative chylothorax is a serious complication after oesophagectomy. Real-time identification of the thoracic duct (TD) could prevent injury or facilitate prompt management when it occurs. Intraoperative TD lymphography with indocyanine green (ICG) is a novel technique that may help prevent chyle leaks following thoracic surgery.

Background: We investigated the impact of Indocyanine Green (ICG) angiography on reducing anastomotic leakage (AL) after elective left segmental colon resection, including transverse resection. While ICG is widely used in colorectal surgery to assess vascularization, its true effect on AL, particularly in left segmental resections, remains unclear.
Study Design: This retrospective, monocentric cohort study included patients undergoing left and transverse colon resection from January 2017 to July 2023.

Background: The increasing utilization of computed tomography (CT) scans has significantly elevated the detection rate of pulmonary nodules. Pulmonary segmentectomy has become the preferred surgical technique for peripheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) measuring 2 cm or smaller. Various methods for identifying the intersegmental planes (ISPs) are currently employed.
