Imbuing superwetting functions to organic-inorganic hybrid networks displaying chemical resistance, self-cleaning ability, and selective permeation of liquids has received increasing attention in recent years. Here we report superhydrophobic ZIF-7 and ZIF-11 on multilayer fluorinated graphene (FG) nanosheets with long-lasting water-repellent features. By exploring the solution processing of these chemically resistant dispersions, superoleophilic FG-ZIF-7 stainless steel mesh (FG-ZIF-7-SSM) and FG-ZIF-11 over cotton cloth (FG-ZIF-11-CC) possessing superior adhesion were fabricated. These permselective oil-liking prototypes were explored toward mesitylene and crude oil pickup from chemically harsh marine conditions such as seawater, acidic water, and alkaline water, with a separation efficiency of 96-94% up to 10 cycles. Furthermore, using an FG-ZIF-11-CC-wrapped glass pipet, upward diffusion of chloroform from sea, acidic, and alkaline water in 45 s was demonstrated with a separation efficacy of 94% up to 20 cycles. In addition to the chemical resistance and reusability, the mechanical stability of FG-ZIF-7-SSM and FG-ZIF-11-CC was investigated through folding, tape peeling, and dragging through sandpaper up to 250 cycles, showing no signs of changes in the hydrophobic responses. This research sheds light on the application of physiochemically resistant percolation coatings based on fluorinated graphene multilayers supporting ZIF-7 and ZIF-11 toward oil/water separation.

The relatively stable MOFs Alfum, MIL-160, DUT-4, DUT-5, MIL-53-TDC, MIL-53, UiO-66, UiO-66-NH, UiO-66(F), UiO-67, DUT-67, NH-MIL-125, MIL-125, MIL-101(Cr), ZIF-8, ZIF-11 and ZIF-7 were studied for their C sorption properties. An understanding of the uptake of the larger C molecules cannot simply be achieved with surface area and pore volume (from N sorption) but involves the complex micropore structure of the MOF. The maximum adsorption capacity at p p = 0.

The curing of a mixture of glycidyl phenyl ether (GPE) and hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride (MHHPA) with zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs)-ZIF-7, ZIF-8, ZIF-11, and ZIF-14-as latent thermal initiators has been critically evaluated. For ZIF-8 and ZIF-14, the % conversion values for GPE were 92 and 93%, respectively, for curing at 100 °C and for 1 h. With regard to the stability of ZIF-8 and ZIF-14 in the GPE-MHHPA mixture, the % conversion values for GPE were 11 and 12% for storage over 8 days at 25 °C.

In order to reduce the fire risk of rigid polyurethane foams (RPUF), three kinds of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) were prepared. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM and X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that ZIFs were successfully prepared. The combustion test results showed that the heat and smoke production of the composite containing ZIFs was obviously reduced.

The energetic performances of seven SOD or RHO-topology ZIFs, with zinc or cobalt metal cation (ZIF-8, ZIF-90, Zn(dcim)2-SALE, ZIF-67, ZIF-7, ZIF-71, ZIF-11) were evaluated using water intrusion-extrusion under high pressure. The relationship between the structural parameters (in particular the pore system SOD or RHO, the type of linker, the metal cation nature) and the intrusion pressure was studied to better understand the mechanism of water intrusion and the energetic behaviour for a given ZIF crystal type. "ZIF-8-water", "ZIF-67-water" and "ZIF-71-water" systems display a shock-absorber behaviour.
