Bilateral medial medullary infarction is a rare subtype of stroke. The typical heart-shaped appearance on magnetic resonance imaging is pathognomonic for bilateral medial medullary syndrome. Vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia is a condition characterized by tortuous dilatation and marked enlargement of the basilar and vertebral arteries, and it may cause posterior circulation infarction. We present the case of a 55-year-old female patient with complaints of speech disorder, regression in consciousness, and difficulty breathing. Diffusion-weighted imaging examination was normal on arrival. In the cranial imaging after 24 hours, acute infarction was observed in the bilateral medial medullary area. Time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography revealed vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia. In this report, a case of bilateral medial medullary infarction with a unique radiological appearance accompanied by vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia, which is rarely reported in the literature, is presented. Keywords: Stroke, infarct, bilateral medial medullary infarction, heart appearance.

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor encephalitis is a rare autoimmune disorder that typically presents with neuropsychiatric symptoms and medial temporal lobe involvement. We report the case of a 24-year-old female with no significant medical history, who developed severe anxiety, memory deficits, and confusion over a two-week period. Neurological examination revealed cognitive dysfunction, asymmetric limb movements, and psychosis.

Background: Supination external rotation (SER) fibula fractures with abnormal medial clear space (MCS) on stress radiographs that normalizes with weightbearing radiographs, termed SER4a ankle fractures, pose a challenge in treatment decision making. This study aims to quantify differences in joint contact area, tibiotalar rotation, and translation using weightbearing computed tomography (CT) scans in SER4a ankle fractures.
Methods: Between November 2022 and September 2023, patients presenting with isolated Weber B fibula fractures were evaluated for inclusion.

Although the medial temporal lobe (MTL) is traditionally considered a region dedicated to long-term memory, recent neuroimaging and intracranial recording evidence suggests that the MTL also contributes to certain aspects of visual short-term memory (VSTM), such as the quality or precision of retained VSTM content. This study aims to further investigate the MTL's role in VSTM precision through the application of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Participants underwent 1.

Perineuronal nets (PNNs) are specialized components of the extracellular matrix that play a critical role in learning and memory. In a Pavlovian fear conditioning paradigm, degradation of PNNs affects the formation and storage of fear memories. This study examined the impact of adolescent intermittent ethanol (AIE) exposure by vapor inhalation on the expression of PNNs in the adult rat prelimbic (PrL) and infralimbic (IfL) subregions of the medial prefrontal cortex.

Background: Simultaneous bilateral high tibial osteotomy (SBHTO) is a potential solution to treat bilateral medial osteoarthritis (OA) associated with tibial varus deformity. Concerns on the potential problems related to bone healing exists, and most of the surgeon performing SBHTO use bone void filler as associated procedure. This paper aim to evaluate safety and efficacy of SBHTO using locking plate, autologous cancellous bone mobilization and no bone void filler with immediate weight bearing at tolerance protocol.
