Various scientific and professional groups, including the American Medical Association (AMA), American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG), American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG), and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), have appropriately clarified that certain population descriptors, such as race and ethnicity, are social and cultural constructs with no basis in genetics. Nevertheless, these conventional population descriptors are routinely collected during the course of clinical genetic testing and may be used to interpret test results. Experts who have examined the use of population descriptors, both conventional and ancestry based, in human genetics and genomics have offered guidance on using these descriptors in research but not in clinical laboratory settings.

Integrating genomics into healthcare within the precision medicine (PM) framework poses distinct challenges in resource-limited regions like Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Amid global challenges like climate change, extinctions, and disease epidemics, science and society require nuanced, international solutions that are grounded in robust, interdisciplinary perspectives and datasets that span deep time. Natural history collections, from modern biological specimens to the archaeological and fossil records, are crucial tools for understanding cultural and biological processes that shape our modern world. At the same time, natural history collections in low and middle-income countries are at-risk and underresourced, imperiling efforts to build the infrastructure and scientific capacity necessary to tackle critical challenges.

Objective: To describe the prevalence of and trends in practices that interfere with the exchange of patient health information (potential information blocking) 2 years after implementation of information-blocking regulations.
Materials And Methods: Drawing from the American Hospital Association Information Technology (IT) Supplement and a national survey of health information organizations (HIOs), we described rates and methods of potential information blocking from these organizations' perspectives in 2023 and compared them to prior years.
Results: Twenty-seven percent of hospitals sometimes or often observed potential information blocking by any actor in 2023, down from 42% in 2021 and 33% in 2022.

In the aftermath of its Apology to People of Color (American Psychological Association, 2021b), the American Psychological Association recently committed itself to a long-term process by which it aims to address racial equity within the field of psychology as well as society more broadly (Andoh, 2022). In service of these ends, what can psychology learn from an analysis of the discursive framework within which it conducts its racism-related work? This critical conceptual article begins with the premise that all professional discourse-the concepts, language, and logic structures by which a field creates and communicates knowledge-inevitably bears the markings of the society in which it was established. Examination of psychological discourse, therefore, can reveal information not only about social hierarchies but also about the field's potential reproduction of them (even when the field intends to do otherwise).
