is a major cause of campylobacteriosis worldwide, and poultry is the main reservoir for its transmission. was generally considered to be a harmless commensal organism in poultry without pathogenic properties. However, it was proposed that a -like organism may be the cause of vibrionic hepatitis, which poses a significant public health risk. The occurrence and epidemiology of in healthy poultry have been studied systematically, but little is known about the epidemiology of isolates from diseased poultry in China. Therefore, this study determined the prevalence and molecular characterization of from diseased chickens, ducks, and geese in Yangzhou Veterinary Hospital between December 2016 and September 2017, which was critical for improving the diagnosis and prevention of infections.

The Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP), is the aged peel of Citrus fruit, which contains phenols, flavonoids, and polysaccharides. This study aims to investigate dietary CRP supplementation on the growth performance, serum biochemical indices, meat quality, intestinal morphology, microbiota, and metabolite of yellow-feathered broilers. A total of 240 yellow-feathered broilers (1.

Background: Avian mycoplasmas are small bacteria associated with several pathogenic conditions in many wild and poultry bird species. Extensive genomic data are available for many avian mycoplasmas, yet no comparative studies focusing on this group of mycoplasmas have been undertaken so far.
Results: Here, based on the comparison of forty avian mycoplasma genomes belonging to ten different species, we provide insightful information on the phylogeny, pan/core genome, energetic metabolism, and virulence of these avian pathogens.

This experiment aimed to compare the efficacy of an antimicrobial peptide (AMP) with a conventional antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) during necrotic enteritis (NE) challenge in broilers. In total, 720 1-day-old exclusively male broiler chicks (Ross-308) were allocated to five treatments, each with six replicates of 24 birds (n = 144/treatment), for 35 days. The treatments were as follows: (1) uninfected control (UC) with basal diet, (2) infected control (IC) with C.

Purpose: Flotation methods are widely used to detect oocysts/cysts of protozoans and eggs of helminths, except trematodes. However, details regarding the concentration and recovery rates of these parasites are poorly understood.
Methods: Using Eimeria tenella oocysts as a model parasite, the present study evaluated three check points: (1) the proportion of parasites that remain floating in flotation solution (sucrose or saturated saline) during centrifugation, (2) the proportion of oocysts that naturally float after addition of flotation solution after centrifugation, and (3) the rate of recovery on cover slips after completion of the flotation protocol.

Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) is a crucial protein located in the mitochondrial inner membrane that mediates nonshivering thermogenesis. However, the molecular mechanisms by which enhancer-promoter chromatin interactions control Ucp1 transcriptional regulation in brown adipose tissue (BAT) are unclear. Here, we employed circularized chromosome conformation capture coupled with next-generation sequencing (4C-seq) to generate high-resolution chromatin interaction profiles of Ucp1 in interscapular brown adipose tissue (iBAT) and epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) and revealed marked changes in Ucp1 chromatin interaction between iBAT and eWAT.
