Examining information behaviors is often justified by their consequences but theoretical models of information behaviors have focused on antecedents of seeking and avoidance rather than their outcomes. Therefore, the current study aims to explore the affective, cognitive, and behavioral consequences of information-seeking and avoidance behaviors related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a secondary analysis of a four-wave online survey of a sample of German residents ( = 492), we conducted hybrid models allowing us to differentiate between within-person effects of information behaviors on the outcomes and between-person correlations between information behaviors and outcomes. The findings revealed only single and small effects of information behaviors. Cognitive consequences such as risk perceptions were influenced by information seeking, whereas information seeking and avoidance affected individuals' subjective but not their objective level of knowledge. Neither information seeking nor avoidance impacted affective responses or a variety of behavioral consequences. These results contrast with assumptions that information seeking is per se a desirable health outcome, whereas information avoidance might be a barrier to health prevention and pandemic containment. At least in times of a health crisis, the findings suggest that information behavior might not be the central determinant of various affective, cognitive, and behavioral outcomes.

Objective: Estimate the budget impact of funding a standardized education and exercise therapy program (GLA:D®) for people with hip and knee OA waiting for total joint replacement (TJR) consultation in a universal publicly insured healthcare system in Canada.
Methods: We built a budget impact analysis (BIA) model to estimate the annual cost of providing GLA:D® program to people waiting for TJR consultation and then forecasted a three-year budget cycle. The base case assumes 40% attend GLA:D®, 11% avoid surgery, uniform care delivery, training costs are incurred separately, and the healthcare system has enough trained staff to meet demand.

We examined the effect of habitual pre-exercise caffeine supplementation on training-induced adaptations to exercising systolic (SBP), diastolic (DBP), pulse pressure (PP), heart rate (HR), and double product (DP). Young women (mean±SD; 24±7 y) were randomized to a caffeine (120 mg) supplement (CAF; n=17) or placebo (PLA; n=16) group, completed 6-weeks of high intensity exercise training on three non-consecutive days per week, and supplemented with CAF or PLA 30-60 minutes before exercise or else upon waking. Before (PRE) and after (POST) the intervention, SBP, DBP, and HR were measured, and PP and DP calculated, at rest and during fixed-power exercise at 50W and 75W.

Background: The aim was to compare the sensory processing skills of children diagnosed with developmental language disorder (DLD) with those of typically developing children and to investigate the relationship between language development and sensory processing skills.
Methods: The investigation comprised 60 children, all of whom were typically developing and diagnosed with DLD. The "Early Language Development-Third: Turkish (ELD: Turkish)" and the "Sensory Profile (Caregiver Questionnaire)" were utilized to assess the language and sensory processing skills of the children, respectively, within the scope of the study.
