The stereocomplexation of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) enantiomers opens up an avenue for the formation of new materials with enhanced performance, specifically regarding their mechanical and thermal resistance and resistance to hydrolysis. Despite these useful features, the study of the stereocomplexation between block copolymers based on PLA in solution is limited, and a comprehensive understanding of this phenomenon is urgently needed. Herein, triblock copolymers of poly(-hydroxyethyl acrylamide) and PL(or D)LA in which PLA was midblock (PHEAAm--PL(D)LA--PHEAAm) were synthesized and assembled into cylindrical micelles via crystallization-driven self-assembly . The stereocomplexation between enantiomeric micelles facilitates the morphological transition, and the transformation process was investigated in detail by varying the aging temperature, block composition, and solvent. It was found that the solubility of the copolymers played a vital role in determining the occurrence and the speed of the chain exchange between the micelles and the unimers, which thereafter has a significant impact on the shape transition. These results lead to a deeper understanding of the stereocomplex-driven morphological transition process and provide valuable guidance for further optimization of the transition under physiological conditions as a new category of stimuli-responsive systems for biomedical applications.

Digeneans of the family Notocotylidae differ from other digeneans in their peculiar eggs. The eggs feature a pair of long filaments extending from their poles, and their contents differ significantly from what we expect to observe in the eggs of digeneans. Instead of a ciliated miracidium larva, the notocotylid egg contains a tiny few-celled mother sporocyst.

The rapid intraerythrocytic replication of Plasmodium falciparum, a deadly species of malaria parasite, requires a quick but constant supply of phospholipids to support marked cell membrane expansion. In the malarial parasite, many enzymes functioning in phospholipid synthesis pathway have not been identified or characterized. Here, we identify P.

Late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD) includes patients from 1 year of age to adulthood. The vast heterogeneity in clinical manifestations and disease progression is not fully explained; however, a short disease duration and a young age seem to be good predictors of a better response to treatment. For this purpose, we investigated and followed up a cohort of 13 juvenile patients with LOPD from the clinical and therapeutic point of view, mainly pointing out the transition from presymptomatic to symptomatic status.

Extensive researches illuminate a potential interplay between immune traits and psychiatric disorders. However, whether there is the causal relationship between the two remains an unresolved question. We conducted a two-sample bidirectional mendelian randomization by utilizing summary data of 731 immune cell traits from genome-wide association studies (GCST90001391-GCST90002121)) and 11 psychiatric disorders including attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety disorder, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), bipolar disorder (BIP), anorexia nervosa (AN), major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Tourette syndrome (TS), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia (SCZ), and substance use disorders (cannabis) (SUD) from the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC).

This study presents the first successful demonstration of growing elemental bismuth (Bi) thin films via thermal atomic layer deposition (ALD) using Bi(NMe2)3 as the precursor and Sb(SiMe3)3 as the co-reactant. The films were deposited at a relatively low temperature of 100 °C, with a growth per cycle (GPC) of 0.31-0.
