The procedure followed by the Nuclear Metrology Laboratory (LMN) at the IPEN for the primary standardization of a (Am + Np) solution, in secular equilibrium, is described. The measurement was carried out in a 4π(PC) (α,β)-γ coincidence system. The total activity per unit mass of the solution was determined by the extrapolation technique, using a software coincidence counting systsem. The extrapolation curves were compared with Monte Carlo calculations by means of Code ESQUEMA, used in previous works, which, was improved and applied in order to calculate the alpha, beta, gamma, X-rays and coincidence spectra.

Introduction: Excision and primary anastomosis (EPA) urethroplasty is the standard treatment for traumatic urethral strictures, but managing them remains challenging for urologists. Identifying factors leading to EPA urethroplasty failure benefits both patients and surgeons. This study aims to analyze risk factors for urethral stricture recurrence after one-year follow-up of EPA urethroplasty.

Introduction: Cognitive symptoms are common in Parkinson's Disease (PD), and digital interventions like telerehabilitation other an accessible way to manage these symptoms. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a Home-Based Computerized Cognitive Training (HB-CCT) program in individuals with PD using a pilot randomized cross-over design.

Methods: Twenty-five participants (mean age 69.

Objectives: Despite the widely recognised high mortality rate among patients with hip fracture, the variation in death rates by gender and cause has been less explored. This study aimed to investigate mortality rates and causes of death in patients who underwent hip fracture surgery, and to compare them with those of the general population. A secondary objective was to compare the results of Internal Fixation versus Arthroplasty in these patients.

Background: Early diagnosis of degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) is often challenging due to subtle, non-specific symptoms, limited disease awareness and a lack of definitive diagnostic criteria. As primary care physicians are typically the first to encounter patients with early DCM, equipping them with effective screening tools is crucial for reducing diagnostic delays and improving patient outcomes. This systematic review evaluates the efficacy of quantitative screening methods for DCM that can be implemented in primary care settings.

Background: The National Lung Screening Trial (NLST) has shown that screening with low dose CT in high-risk population was associated with reduction in lung cancer mortality. These patients are also at high risk of coronary artery disease, and we used deep learning model to automatically detect, quantify and perform risk categorisation of coronary artery calcification score (CACS) from non-ECG gated Chest CT scans.

Materials And Methods: Automated calcium quantification was performed using a neural network based on Mask regions with convolutional neural networks (R-CNN) for multiorgan segmentation.
