In the present study, we estimated the levels of infestation of the main fish species that are hosts for two species: and . The prevalence of and infestations in the intestine of their definitive host-pike was similar (71.0% and 77.4%, respectively). At the same time, the prevalence of infestation in muscle tissue was significantly different between the second intermediate hosts, (31.4%) and (91.2%), due to considerable differences in their diets. For , we found significant variations in the levels of prevalence among the second intermediate hosts-100% for , 81.8% for 31.9% for , and 24.5% for -that we also explained using different diets. Moreover, analysis of the symmetry of parasite infestations did not reveal any asymmetry between the number of cysts in the left and right body surfaces of the "planktivorous" form/species of whitefish, whereas in the ''benthivorous", an asymmetry of parasite infestations was found.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of integrating a specific balance-training program focused on static balance to the conventional rehabilitation program on dynamic balance, risk of falls, and activities of daily living (ADLs) in older adults post-stroke.
Design: A single-blinded randomized controlled trial.
Setting: Institutional Intermediate Care Hospital.

Pomacea canaliculata is a highly successful invasive snail that shapes freshwater communities in both native and invaded habitats. We studied its digenean parasites from three freshwater bodies in its native distribution area in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. An integrated approach was used to determine and describe the larval stages of digenean, including morphological, molecular, and histopathology analyses.

Objective: The objective is to investigate the differences in urinary organic acid (OA) profiles and metabolism between healthy control (HC) pregnant women and those with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) during the second trimester and third trimester of pregnancy.
Methods: A total of 66 HC pregnant women and 32 pregnant women with GDM were assessed for 107 hydrophilic metabolites in urine samples collected during the second and third trimester of pregnancy using tandem mass spectrometry. The urine OA profiles for each group were obtained, and metabolomic analysis and discussion were conducted.

In my proposed mechanism of Mo-nitrogenase there are two roles for separate N molecules. One N diffuses into the reaction zone between Fe2 and Fe6 where a strategic gallery of H atoms can capture N to form the Fe-bound HNNH intermediate which is then progressively hydrogenated through intermediates containing HNNH, NH and NH entities and then two NH in sequence. The second N can be parked in an N-pocket about 3.

The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) stands as a pivotal process in electrochemistry, finding applications in various energy conversion technologies such as fuel cells, metal-air batteries, and chlor-alkali electrolyzers. Hereby, a comprehensive density functional theory (DFT) investigation is presented into the proposed conventional and unconventional ORR mechanisms using single-atom catalysts (SACs) supported on nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) as model systems. Several reaction intermediates have been identified that appear to be more stable than the ones postulated in the conventional mechanism, which follows the *OOH, *O, and *OH intermediates.
