Increased use of nanoscale particles have benefited many industries, including medicine, electronics, and environmental cleaning. These particles provide higher material performance, greater reactivity, and improved drug delivery. However, the main concern is the generation of nanowastes that can spread in different environmental matrices, posing threat to our environment and human health. Nanoparticles (NPs) have the potential to enter the food chain through a variety of pathways, including agriculture, food processing, packaging, and environmental contamination. These particles can negatively impact plant and animal physiology and growth. Due to the assessment of their environmental damage, nanoparticles are the particles of size between 1 and 100 nm that is the recent topic to be discussed. Nanoparticles' absorption, distribution, and toxicity to plants and animals can all be significantly influenced by their size, shape, and surface chemistry. Due to their absorptive capacity and potential to combine with other harmful substances, they can alter the metabolic pathways of living organisms. Nevertheless, despite the continuous research and availability of data, there are still knowledge gaps related to the ecotoxicology, prevalence and workable ways to address the impact of nanoparticles. This review focuses on the impact of nanoparticles on different organisms and the application of advanced techniques to remediate ecosystems using hyperaccumulator plant species. Future considerations are explored around nano-phytoremediation, as an eco-friendly, convenient and cost effective technology that can be applied at field scales.

For drug discovery research, experimental animals and Caco-2 cells derived from a human colon carcinoma may be used to evaluate the absorption and safety of orally administered drugs. These systems have issues, such as species differences with humans in experimental animals, variations in gene expression patterns, very low drug-metabolizing activities in Caco-2 cells, and the recent trend toward reduced animal testing.

The retinal Schiff base is a chromophore of significant biological relevance, as it is responsible for capturing sunlight in rhodopsins, which are photoactive proteins found in various living organisms. Additionally, this chromophore is subjected to various mechanical forces in different proteins, which alter its structure and, consequently, its properties. To thoroughly understand the mechanical response limits of the retinal excitation energy, a simple first-order formalism has been developed to quantify the chromophore's optimal mechanical response to applied external forces (on the order of tens of pN).

Background: While much of the evidence linking the rapid urbanization and the increasing prevalence of allergen sensitization, but little is known regarding rural-to-urban migrants. The aim of this study was to identify the disparities in allergy, the gut microbiome and factors among native urban, migrating, and native rural Chinese.
Methods: We redesigned the dataset of the China Alliance of Research on Respiratory Allergic Disease secondary survey, and after stratified sampling, a subsample of 2422 subjects were enrolled for the analysis of a questionnaire, skin prick tests (SPT), and specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) titer measurements against 8 common allergens.
