In this work, we introduce a general model for a collection of innovation processes in order to model and analyze the interaction among them. We provide theoretical results, analytically proven, and we show how the proposed model fits the behaviors observed in some real data sets (from Reddit and Gutenberg). It is worth mentioning that the given applications are only examples of the potentialities of the proposed model and related results: due to its abstractness and generality, it can be applied to many interacting innovation processes.

Lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) continue to encounter significant challenges in practical applications, primarily attributed to the low electrical conductivity of the cathode active material sulfur, volume expansion during cycling and the uncontrolled shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides (LiPSs). In this work, flexible meta-aramid fibrids (AFs) were innovatively introduced, and polydopamine (PDA) was employed to effectively adhere highly conductive multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) to the AFs surface, thereby forming nanoscale conductive pathways. A wet-laid process analogous to aramid paper-making was utilized to enhance interfacial bonding between AFs and rigid carbon fibers (CFs), resulting in a self-supporting paper-based cathode material with a uniform, dense three-dimensional micronano-scale conductive network and stable structure.

The development of superior non-noble-metal-based oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts is essential for large-scale hydrogen production. In this study, an integrated porous nanosheet NiP-NiP heterostructures were designed as an excellent OER electrocatalyst. The synthesized heterostructures demonstrated notable activity, achieving a small overpotential of 260 mV to sustain a typical 10 mA cm current density, along with exceptional durability over 2000 CV cycles.

The solvent-targeted recovery and precipitation (STRAP) process separates and recovers the constituent resins in multilayer plastic packaging films by selective polymer dissolution. In this work, the cause of coloring in the STRAP-recycled polyethylene (PE) resins from postindustrial printed films was identified as decomposed diarylide pigments. Two different approaches are needed to completely remove the dissolved colorants during the STRAP process including (i) adding an activated carbon (AC) adsorbent to the solvent after polymer dissolution and (ii) proper mechanical filtration of the polymer-solvent cake to remove as much solvent from the cake as possible.

Molecule-induced ripening control in perovskite quantum dots for efficient and stable light-emitting diodes.

Perovskite quantum dots (QDs) show an excellent application perspective in semiconductor optoelectronic devices. However, problems of ligand loss during the growth, purification, film formation, and storage process always induce the aggregation and ripening of QDs, adversely affecting QDs' and QD-based devices' performance. Here, we use a bidentate molecule to control ripening toward a notable performance boost in CsPbI QDs.

Electronic address:

G-quadruplexes are four-stranded nucleic acid structures that play vital roles in regulating gene expression, maintaining genomic stability, and supporting various biological processes. This protocol details their formation from double-stranded DNA via in vitro transcription. It includes steps for selecting suitable DNA templates, assembling necessary components (such as RNA polymerase, nucleotides, and buffers), setting optimal incubation conditions, and performing dimethyl sulfate (DMS) footprinting to analyze the structures.
