A series of [2]catenanes has been prepared from di-NHC building blocks by utilizing solvophobic effects and/or π⋅⋅⋅π stacking interactions. The dinickel naphthobiscarbene complex syn-[1] and the kinked biphenyl-bridged bipyridyl ligand L yield the [2]catenane [2-IL](OTf) by self-assembly. Solvophobic effects are pivotal for the formation of the interlocked species. Substitution of the biphenyl-linker in L for a pyromellitic diimide group gave ligand L , which yielded in combination with syn-[1] the [2]catenane [3-IL](OTf) . This assembly exhibits enhanced stability in diluted solution, aided by additional π⋅⋅⋅π stacking interactions. The π⋅⋅⋅π stacking was augmented by the introduction of a pyrene bridge between two NHC donors in ligand L . Di-NHC precursor H -L (PF ) reacts with Ag O to give the [Ag L ] [2]catenane [4-IL](PF ) , which shows strong π⋅⋅⋅π stacking interactions between the pyrene groups. This assembly was readily converted into the [Au L ] gold species [5-IL](PF ) , which exhibits exceptional stability based on the strong π⋅⋅⋅π stacking interactions and the enhanced stability of the Au-C bonds.

Nursing activity recognition has immense importance in the development of smart healthcare management and is an extremely challenging area of research in human activity recognition. The main reasons are an extreme class-imbalance problem and intra-class variability depending on both the subject and the recipient. In this paper, we apply a unique two-step feature extraction, coupled with an intermediate feature 'Angle' and a new feature called mean min max sum to render the features robust against intra-class variation.

Recent advances have uncovered an exotic sliding ferroelectric mechanism, which endows to design atomically thin ferroelectrics from non-ferroelectric parent monolayers. Although notable progress has been witnessed in understanding the fundamental properties, functional devices based on sliding ferroelectrics remain elusive. Here, we demonstrate the rewritable, non-volatile memories at room-temperature with a two-dimensional (2D) sliding ferroelectric semiconductor of rhombohedral-stacked bilayer MoS.

For finely representation of complex reservoir units, higher computing overburden and lower spatial resolution are limited to traditional stochastic simulation. Therefore, based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), spatial distribution patterns of regional variables can be reproduced through high-order statistical fitting. However, parameters of GANs cannot be optimized under insufficient training samples.

Crystal symmetry, which governs the local atomic coordination and bonding environment, is one of the paramount constituents that intrinsically dictate materials' functionalities. However, engineering crystal symmetry is not straightforward due to the isotropically strong covalent/ionic bonds in crystals. Layered two-dimensional materials offer an ideal platform for crystal engineering because of the ease of interlayer symmetry operations.

Colloidal properties of nanoparticles are intricately linked to their morphology. Traditionally, achieving high-concentration dispersions of two-dimensional (2D) nanosheets has proven challenging as they tend to agglomerate or re-stack under increased surface contact and Van der Waals attraction. Here, we unveil an excluded volume effect enabled by 2D morphology, which can be coupled with electrostatic repulsion to synthesize high-concentration aqueous graphene dispersions.
