Published: September 2023

The title compound, [Ni(CHO)(CHN)(HO)], contains Ni cations octa-hedrally surrounded within an [ON] coordination set. The cations are linked by 4-(carb-oxy-eth-yl)benzoate (ceb) and 1,4-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)piperazine (bpmp) ligands into tri-periodic diamondoid () networks. The fivefold inter-penetrated networks are held into the crystal structure by means of O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between bound water mol-ecules and unligated carboxyl-ate O atoms of the ceb ligands.

The title compound, {[Ni(CHO)(CHNO)]·HO}, contains octa-hedrally coordinated Ni ions ligated by 1,3-adamantanedi-acetato (ada) ligands and -(pyridin-3-yl)isonicotinamide (3-pina) ligands, to form coordination polymer layers with a triangular (3,6) grid topology based on [Ni(OCO)] dimeric units. The diperiodic layer motifs stack in an pattern mediated by C-H⋯O supra-molecular inter-actions between ada ligands and water mol-ecules of crystallization to form the full triperiodic crystal structure of the title compound.

The title com-pound, {[Ni(CHO)(CHNO)(HO)]·HO}, contains octa-hedrally coordinated Ni ions ligated by adamantane-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate (adc) and -(pyridin-3-yl)isonicotinamide (3-pina) ligands forming coordination polymer layers with a (4,4) grid topology. These diperiodic layer motifs aggregate in an pattern mediated by supra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions to form the full triperiodic crystal structure of the title com-pound.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, -poly[[[(1,4,8,11-tetra-aza-cyclo-tetra-decane-κ , , , )nickel(II)]-μ-cyanido-κ :-[bis-(cyanido-κ)nickel(II)]-μ-cyanido-κ :] dihydrate], {[Ni(CN)(CHN)]·2HO] or [{[Ni(CHN)][Ni(CN)]}·2HO] , consists of a pair of crystallographically non-equivalent macrocyclic cations and anions. The nickel(II) ions (all with site symmetry ) are coordinated by the four secondary N atoms of the macrocyclic ligands, which adopt the most energetically stable -III conformation, and the mutually N atoms of the tetra-cyano-nickelate anion in a slightly tetra-gonally distorted NiN octa-hedral coordination geometry. The [Ni(CN))] anion exhibits a bridging function, resulting in the formation of parallel polymeric chains running along the [10] direction.

The title compound, {[KNi(CHNO)]·4.8HO} , was obtained as a result of a template reaction between oxalohydrazide-hydroxamic acid, formaldehyde and nickel(II) nitrate followed by partial hydrolysis of the formed inter-mediate. The two independent [Ni(CHNO)] complex anions exhibit pseudo- symmetry and consist of an almost planar metal-containing fragment and a 1,3,5-oxadiazinane ring with a chair conformation disposed nearly perpendicularly with respect to the former.
