Cyclic carbonates have received significant interests for uses as reagents, solvents, and monomers. The coupling reaction of epoxides with carbon dioxide (CO ) to produce cyclic carbonate is an attractive route which can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and environmental hazards. Herein, a series of five indium chloride complexes supported by inden Schiff-base ligands were reported along with four X-ray crystal structures. The constrained five-membered rings were added to the ligands to enhance the coordination of epoxides to the In metal. From the catalyst screening, In inden complex having tert-butyl substituents and propylene backbone in combination with tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) exhibited the highest catalytic activity (TON up to 1017) for propylene oxide/CO coupling reaction with >99 % selectivity for cyclic carbonate under solvent-free conditions. In addition, the catalyst was shown to be active at atmospheric pressure of CO at room temperature. The catalyst system can be applied to various internal and terminal epoxide substrates to exclusively produce the corresponding cyclic carbonates.

Two new heteroleptic indium aminothiolate compounds [InClSCHN(Me)SCH][1] and [InSCHN(Me)SCH(CHFNO)] [2] were synthesized by salt metathesis reaction involving indium trichloride, aminothiol, and N,O-β-heteroarylalkenol ligands. The complexes were subsequently purified and thoroughly characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis, elemental studies, mass spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction single crystal analysis that showed a trigonal bipyramidal coordination of In(III) in both complexes. Thermogravimetric analysis of [1] revealed a multistep decomposition pathway and the formation of InS at 350 °C, which differed from the pattern of [2] due to the lower thermal stability of [1].

In recent years, the utilization of extremophile microorganisms for the synthesis of metal nanoparticles, featuring enhanced properties and diverse compositions, has emerged as a sustainable strategy to generate high-quality nanomaterials with unique characteristics. Our study focuses on the biosynthesis of Cu-In-S (CIS) nanoparticles, which has garnered considerable attention in the past decade due to their low toxicity and versatile applications in biomedicine and solar cells. Despite this interest, there is a notable absence of reports on biological methods for CIS nanoparticle synthesis.

Nowadays, ductile and conducting polymeric materials are highly utilizable in the realm of stretchable organic electronics. Here, mechanically ductile and electrically conducting free-standing films are fabricated by blending different solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), diethylene glycol (DEG) and ,-dimethylformamide (DMF), and salts such as silver nitrate (AgNO), zinc chloride (ZnCl), copper chloride (CuCl) and indium chloride (InCl) with the homogeneous solution of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrenesulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) through solution casting method. The presence of salt modifies the PEDOT conformation from benzoid to quinoid, and induces the evolution of different morphologies.

InAs semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) exhibit intriguing electrical/optoelectronic properties suitable for next-generation electronic devices. Although there is a need for both - and -type semiconductors in such devices, InAs NCs typically exhibit only -type characteristics. Here, we report InAs NCs with controlled semiconductor polarity.
