Oliver (EuO) is a natural medicine that can improve the composition of intestinal flora in fish, but more experiments and data are needed to support whether it can effectively improve the changes of intestinal flora and intestinal damage caused by high starch. This study examined the changes in intestinal structure as well as intestinal flora before and after the addition of EuO to high-starch diets and analyzed the effects of such changes on immune and digestive functions. The results showed that EuO reduces mortality during attack and can reduce starch-induced intestinal inflammation. Oliver supplementation was able to alter the changes of intestinal flora in fatty acid degradation, bacterial chemotaxis, porphyrin metabolism and flagella assembly caused by high starch. By analyzing the abundance and correlation of bacterial communities, three bacterial communities that were significantly related to the intervention effect of EuO were screened. Further analysis revealed that EuO supplementation reduced the increase in abundance of , , , and induced by high starch, which were negatively correlated with levels of the immunoreactive substance LZM in fish. This study reveals the regulatory effects of EuO on the intestinal flora of fed on high starch diets, and provides a theoretical basis for reducing starch damage to fish in production.

Selenium promotes plant growth and improves nutritional quality, and the role of nano-selenium in alfalfa in regulating nutritional quality is unknown. In this study, using the N labeling method, it was found that nano-selenium could promote plant nitrogen metabolism and photosynthesis by increasing the light energy capture capacity and the activities of key enzymes of the nitrogen metabolism process, leading to an increase in alfalfa nitrogen accumulation and dry matter content. The transcriptome and metabolome revealed that nano-selenium mainly affected the pathways of 'biosynthesis of amino acids', 'starch and sucrose metabolism', 'pentose and glucuronate interconversions', 'pentose phosphate pathway', and 'flavonoid biosynthesis'.

This study investigated the effect of different-polarity aqueous ethanol solutions on the formation of V-type starch originating from corn starch. Scanning electron microscopy revealed that the morphology of starch transformed from a random lamellar structure to a granular structure with decreasing solution polarity. When the ethanol concentration increased from 40 % to 60 %, the crystallinity and single-helix ratio of V-type starch increased from 9.

Aims: Flavobacterium strains are widely distributed in various environments and generally exhibit specialized roles in the degradation of complex organic substrates. To obtain a deeper understanding of their enzyme profiles, patterns of action on natural carbohydrates degradation, and to mine gene resources for biomass conversion.
Methods And Results: We sequenced the whole genome of a novel carbohydrate-degrading Flavobacterium sp.
