The annular pulley ligaments of the fingers are one of the most injured anatomical structures in those who participate in climbing. Despite this, there is a paucity of guidance clearly describing the rehabilitation and physical preparation parameters to return to sport following such injuries. The foundation of effective rehabilitation is the judicious application of progressive loading to increase the morphological and material properties of the damaged tissues. We maintain the optimal management of the climbing athlete after a traumatic annular flexor pulley system rupture should be grounded in the principles of strength and conditioning.

Purpose: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of percutaneous release procedures under sonography using Sono-Instruments® in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and trigger finger (TF).
Methods: Prospective study involving 30 patients, divided into two groups (15 CTS, and 15 TF). The primary outcomes were surgical performance-related outcomes (visibility, ease of use, satisfaction, duration) using Sono-Instruments® and patient-related outcomes (pain, activity limitations, time to return to work, functional scores).

Jersey finger describes the rupture of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) tendon at its insertion into the distal phalanx. In the absence of an evidence-based approach to tensioning during secondary repair, we aimed to devise a novel method to determine the required tendon length pre/intraoperatively. We measured anatomical landmarks, associated with the FDP tendon, on dissected cadavers, to assess whether these can be used to estimate tendon segment lengths.

Percutaneous first annular pulley (A1 pulley) release, which has been increasingly used to treat trigger fingers, has been widely established as a safe and simple procedure. Multiple studies have reported positive results of percutaneous A1 pulley release.
