Background: The objective of this study was to explore the impact of COVID-19 on the lived experiences of patients with cancer in Lebanon.
Methods: We adopted a descriptive phenomenological approach. We included adults who had been diagnosed with cancer before the pandemic and undergoing treatment at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre. We conducted virtual, semi-structured in-depth interviews with either video or audio recordings. Two team members coded the transcripts independently and identified common themes and patterns.
Results: We recruited 11 participants for the study. The analysis identified the following six themes: perceived seriousness of COVID-19, fear of COVID-19 versus fear of cancer, coping mechanisms, treatment availability and accessibility, compliance with public health and social measures and precautionary measures in the healthcare system. The coping mechanisms included staying positive, seeking normalcy, using family support, religiosity and fatalism.
Conclusion: Faced with many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, patients with cancer resorted to a range of coping strategies.

Background: Lymph node ratio (LNR), log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS), and the number of postoperative lymph node staging (pN) are prognostic indicators of various cancers. However, the prognostic values of these indicators remain unclear in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HPSCC). This study's primary objective was to investigate the predictive value of LNR, LODDS, and pN for advanced HPSCC, and the secondary objective was to compare which of the values had the best predictive value for advanced HPSCC.

Objectives: Cancer-related cachexia affects approximately 50% to 80% of cancer patients and contributes significantly to cancer-related mortality, accounting for 20% of deaths. This multifactorial syndrome is characterized by systemic inflammation, anorexia, and elevated energy expenditure, leading to severe weight loss and muscle wasting. Understanding the underlying mechanisms is critical for developing effective interventions.

Introduction: Current trends of delaying childbearing and the increasing incidence of endometrial cancer in nulliparous woman necessitate research and development of fertility sparing treatments. Hormonal therapy with progestins offers an alternative to surgical treatment for a select group of patients of reproductive-age, who wish to preserve their reproductive potential.
Materials And Methods: The study evaluates the effectiveness of medroxyprogesterone acetate therapy in patients with early-stage endometrial cancer, atypical endometrial hyperplasia or atypical polypoid adenomyoma, seeking to preserve fertility.

Background: Ampullary adenocarcinoma (AAC) typically presents at an early stage due to biliary obstruction and therefore might be specifically suitable for minimally invasive pancreatoduodenectomy (MIPD). However, studies assessing MIPD specifically for AAC, including the robotic and laparoscopic approach, are limited. The aim of this study is to compare short- and long-term oncological resection and perioperative outcomes of robotic (RPD), laparoscopic (LPD) and open pancreatoduodenectomy (OPD) performed specifically for AAC.

Purpose: Male breast cancer is an understudied disease with unique clinicopathological features. This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of the Clinical Treatment Score post-5 years (CTS5) in estimating late recurrence risk in estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) male breast cancer patients.
Methods: This retrospective study includes 65,711 ER+ early male (n = 611) and female (n = 65,100) breast cancer patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database diagnosed between 2010 and 2018.
