The absence or dysplasia of the iliac artery(IA) is an exceedingly rare condition, with limited cases documented in the literature. In this report, we present a case of hypoplasia of the right external iliac artery (EIA) in a 69-year-old male patient. The patient presented with right lower abdominal pain attributed to an aneurysm of the right internal iliac artery (IIA), yet notably, there was no evidence of lower limb ischemia at the time of consultation.

Purpose: Bladder preservation therapy in combination with atezolizumab and radiation therapy (BPT-ART) trial, which was a multicenter, open-label, single-arm phase II study, showed a promisingly high interim clinical complete response (cCR) rate of 84.4% (38/45). In the present study, we aimed to identify potential tissue biomarkers for achieving cCR via BPT-ART.

The Artisse intrasaccular device (Medtronic) offers a novel treatment option for unruptured and ruptured wide-neck bifurcating intracranial aneurysms.1 2The Artisse device features enhancements including a distal tip for dome protection, platinum band markers for improved visibility, and a bilayer high-density platinum core nitinol mesh basket for enhanced flexibility and visibility when compared with previous devices.2-7 Data from case series demonstrate the procedural safety and efficacy of the Artisse device.

We investigate the impact of differential vaccine effectiveness, waning immunity, and natural cross-immunity on the capacity for vaccine-induced strain replacement in two-strain models of infectious disease spread. We focus specifically on the case where the first strain is more transmissible but the second strain is more immune-resistant. We consider two cases on vaccine-induced immunity: (1) a monovalent model where the second strain has immune escape with respect to vaccination; and (2) a bivalent model where the vaccine remains equally effective against both strains.
