In 2019, Spanish fertility clinics reached a historical record of ova extractions. A total of 14,521 surgeries were performed to serve the growing egg demand internationally. Here I show how bringing a cycle to completion is not an easy task for egg donors. Selecting a clinic, understanding their own biocapital in the industry and how to invest it, fitting the cycle into their lives, and managing pain and emotions become crucial parts of their work. I argue that these activities constitute a vast amount of labor that, although essential for the generation of value in reproductive bioeconomies, remains invisible and undertheorized.

Hopeful parents facing infertility dedicate significant sums of money, not to mention time, energy, and their own bodies, in the pursuit of biological parenthood via assisted reproductive technology (ART). Yet because the success rate of ART varies depending on a range of factors and resources remain finite, many undergoing treatment will not manage to biologically conceive. How do people who do not conceive with ART come to terms with this reality and the possibility that they may need to walk away from future treatments? Supplementing prior research that explores why women end treatment and what makes it difficult, this study draws upon 23 semi-structured, in-depth interviews to examine how women diagnosed with infertility consider and/or initiate discontinuation of treatment aimed at biological reproduction.

Attention to inclusivity and equity in health research and clinical practice has grown in recent years; however, coordinated specialty care (CSC) for early psychosis lags in efforts to improve equity despite evidence of ongoing disparities and inequities in CSC care. This Open Forum argues that marginalization and disparities in early psychosis research and clinical care are interrelated, and the authors provide suggestions for paths forward. Commitment to equity and justice demands recentering the perspectives of those most affected by early psychosis services and investing in the integration of historically excluded perspectives across all aspects of practice, policy, and research.

Purpose: To investigate the effectiveness of bursal acromial resurfacing (acromiograft) on acromiohumeral distance, subacromial contact area, and pressure in a cadaveric model of massive rotator cuff tear.
Methods: Eight fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders were tested using a customized shoulder testing system. Humeral head translation, subacromial contact pressure, and the subacromial contact area were evaluated across 4 conditions: (1) intact shoulder; (2) simulated massive rotator cuff tear, (3) 3-mm acromiograft condition, and (4) 6-mm acromiograft condition.
