Na Ti O (NTO) with high safety has been regarded as a promising anode candidate for sodium-ion batteries. In the present study, integrated modification of migration channels broadening, charge density re-distribution, and oxygen vacancies regulation are realized in case of Nb-doping and have obtained significantly enhanced cycling performance with 92 % reversible capacity retained after 3000 cycles at 3000 mA g . Moreover, unexpected low-temperature performance with a high discharge capacity of 143 mAh g at 100 mA g under -15 °C is also achieved in the full cell. Theoretical investigation suggests that Nb preferentially replaces Ti3 sites, which effectively improves structural stability and lowers the diffusion energy barrier. What's more important, both the in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and in situ Raman furtherly confirm the robust spring effect of the Ti-O bond, making special charge compensation mechanism and respective regulation strategy to conquer the sluggish transport kinetics and low conductivity, which plays a key role in promoting electrochemical performance.

Today, composite profiles of constant cross section are widely used in advanced engineering structures. The use of composite profiles in window and door structures can reduce thermal bridging and reduce energy consumption for heating and cooling. This article focuses on the production of new, thermoplastic-based structural pultruded profiles and their application in a PVC (polyvinylchloride) window structure as a reinforcement.

Red mud (RM), an iron oxide-rich solid waste, shows potential as a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction in denitrification processes. This study investigates the catalytic performance and mechanism of metal-modified RM in reducing NO from diesel vehicle exhaust. Acid-washed RM catalysts were impregnated with varying ratios of cerium (Ce) and zirconium (Zr).

Background: It is not yet clear to what extent the physiological regulatory mechanisms that maintain core body temperature are reflected by changes in resting energy expenditure (REE). Particularly in indirect calorimetry with a canopy, the effects of short-term temperature exposures have not yet been investigated. This can be of relevance for the determination of REE in practice.

Optimizing low-temperature CO oxidation under realistic combustion conditions: The impact of CeO morphology on Au/CeO catalysts.

State Key Laboratory of Fire Science, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei 230026, PR China; Suzhou Key Laboratory for Urban Public Safety, Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China, Suzhou, Jiangsu 215123, PR China. Electronic address:

The development of carbon monoxide oxidation catalysts for complex gas environments faces significant challenges in fire scenarios. Only a few representative gases are used as interfering components in simulated real smoke under laboratory conditions, which cannot accurately reflect the performance of catalysts in a real fire. Herein, Au/CeO catalysts with high activity were prepared by adjusting the morphology (rod, cube, polyhedron and irregular particles) and exposed crystal surface ratio of CeO.

Natural history of the hyperdominant tree, Pentaclethra macroloba (Willd.) Kuntze, in the Amazon River estuary.

Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia - INPA, Programa de Pós-graduação em Ecologia - PPGEco, Manaus, AM, Brasil.

Pentaclethra macroloba is a hyperdominant species with multiple uses in the Amazon. This species tolerates varying flood amplitudes, however the effect of flood topographic gradient on its ecophysiology remains unclear. We want to know if individuals from the high (10 trees) and low (20 trees) várzea show distinct phenological patterns as a function of the flood gradient, as well as their colonization strategies and their seed predators.
