Introduction: To investigate the relationship between hydrogen sulfide(HS) and the senescence level of the fetal membranes, and to elucidate how HS affects the integrity of the fetal membranes.
Methods: The HS and the senescence levels of fetal membranes, and the expressions of HS synthase CBS and CSE were detected in the preterm (PT) group and the preterm premature ruptured membranes (pPROM) group. The effects of HS donors and knockdown of CBS on the senescence level of amniotic epithelial cells, and the expression level of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and epithelial-mesenchymal translation (EMT) were observed.
Results: The level of HS in the fetal membranes in the pPROM group is significantly lower than that in the PT group matched for gestational age. The level of HS is negatively correlated with the senescence level of fetal membranes. Treatment with HS donors reduced cell senescence and MMPs expression, but did not affect EMT. CBS siRNA transfection accelerated the senescence of amniotic epithelial cells, and promoted the expression of MMPs and EMT occurrence, but l-cysteine could reverse these effects.
Discussion: Our study suggests that HS, through its anti-aging effect, can influence the expression of MMPs and EMT, thereby contributing to the maintenance of fetal membrane integrity.

Peripheral nerve tissue engineering is a field that uses cells, growth factors and biological scaffold material to provide a nutritional and physical support in the repair of nerve injuries. The specific properties of injectable human amniotic membrane-derived hydrogel including growth factors as well as anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective agents make it an ideal tool for nerve tissue repair, and metformin may also aid in nerve regeneration. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of hydrogel derived from amniotic membrane (AM) along with metformin (MET) administration in the repair of sciatic nerve injury in male rats.

Objective: We aimed to compare the perinatal outcomes in women with cervical dilatation with fetal membranes visible before 26 weeks of gestation managed with an adjunctive pessary after emergency cervical cerclage or emergency cerclage alone.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of women with singleton gestation, diagnosed with cervical dilatation accompanied by fetal membranes visible at or beyond the external os, who underwent emergency cervical cerclage. The participants were recruited at 3 tertiary perinatal centers.

Objective: To explore the influencing factors of vaginal delivery after cesarean section, establish a predictive model, and identify potential factors for perinatal complications.
Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of women who attempted a trial of labor after cesarean section(TOLAC) at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and subsequently gave birth in this hospital between 31 December 31 2017 and December 2023. Associations between maternal characteristics and success of TOLAC were assessed using univariate and logistic regression.

Microbeam Radiation Therapy is a preclinical form of spatially fractionated radiation therapy that utilizes synchrotron X-rays to deliver highly heterogeneous dose distributions at a micrometric scale. This radiation scheme has been shown to facilitate the induction of controlled and reversible vascular permeability, enhancing treatment efficacy of systemic therapeutic agents. Despite the promising preclinical results, translating microbeam SFRT to the clinic has been hindered by a reliance on synchrotron sources that operate at dose rates orders of magnitude greater than what is possible with clinical machines.

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of true knot of the umbilical cord (TKUC) and identify associated adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Study Design: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was conducted, including all women with singleton pregnancies who delivered between 24 and 42 weeks of gestation from 2005 to 2021 at two large obstetrical centers. Gross pathological examinations of the placenta and umbilical cord were routinely performed immediately after delivery.
