Copper-manganese composite metal oxides (CuMnO) were prepared by hydrolysis-driven oxidation-reduction method and used to activate sulfite to degrade chlortetracycline hydrochloride (CTC) for the first time. The Jahn-Teller ions Mn and Cu exist in CuMnO, which form a solid electric charge transport redox system and ensure the continuous generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Through the systematic study of the experimental parameters such as sulfite concentration, catalyst metal molar ratio, catalyst amounts and initial pH, the optimal degradation rate of CTC could reach 91.74% within 10 min and 94.46% after 30 min. The major reactive radicals were determined by radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) trapping techniques, and it was confirmed that SO and •O played a nonnegligible role in the process of degrading CTC. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations show that higher Fukui indices (f and f) of CTC sites are more vulnerable to free radical attack. CuMnO has low CTC degradation intermediate toxicity, high catalytic performance, good anti-interference ability, reusability and stability, and possesses decent application potential in the actual water treatment field.

Fc receptor γ subunit (FcRγ) activation plays a crucial role in cancer carcinogenesis. Here, we aimed to uncover the impact of FcRγ on circulating tumor cells (CTC) colonization and the underlying mechanism. FcRγ deficient (FcRγ) mice were used to investigate the functional effects of FcRγ in cancer metastasis, and the results demonstrated that FcRγ deficiency significantly promotes metastasis.

Livestock manure is difficult to manage for high moisture and nutrients. High-temperature composting (> 75 °C) reduces moisture. However, the humification process, crucial for nutrient recycling, remains poorly understood.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) is the most common neurological movement disorder with few treatments and limited therapeutic efficacy, research into noninvasive and effective treatments is critical. Abnormal cerebello-thalamo-cortical (CTC) loop function are thought to be significant pathogenic causes of ET, with the cerebellum and cortex are common targets for ET treatment. In recent years, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been recognized as a promising brain research technique owing to its noninvasive nature and safety.

The composition of eukaryotic membranes reflects a varied but precise amalgam of lipids. The genetic underpinning of how such diversity is achieved or maintained is surprisingly obscure, despite its clear metabolic and pathophysiological impact. The Arv1 protein is represented in all eukaryotes and was initially identified in the model eukaryote as a candidate transporter of lipids from the endoplasmic reticulum.

The incidence of gastroesophageal cancers is rising, driven, in part, by an increasing burden of risk factors of obesity and gastroesophageal reflux. Despite efforts to address these risk factors, and a growing interest in methods of population screening, the bulk of these tumours are unresectable at diagnosis. In this setting, effective systemic treatments are paramount to improve survival and quality of life.
