3D ceramic architectures are captivating geometrical features with an immense demand in optics. In this work, an additive manufacturing (AM) approach for printing alkaline-earth perovskite 3D microarchitectures is developed. The approach enables custom-made photoresists suited for two-photon lithography, permitting the production of alkaline-earth perovskite (BaZrO , CaZrO , and SrZrO ) 3D structures shaped in the form of octet-truss lattices, gyroids, or inspired architectures like sodalite zeolite, and C buckyballs with micrometric and nanometric feature sizes. Alkaline-earth perovskite morphological, structural, and chemical characteristics are studied. The optical properties of such perovskite architectures are investigated using cathodoluminescence and wide-field photoluminescence emission to estimate the lifetime rate and defects in BaZrO , CaZrO , and SrZrO . From a broad perspective, this AM methodology facilitates the production of 3D-structured mixed oxides. These findings are the first steps toward dimensionally refined high-refractive-index ceramics for micro-optics and other terrains like (photo/electro)catalysis.

The synthesis of ethylamine-based perovskites has emerged to attempt to replace the lead in lead-based perovskites for the alkaline earth elements barium and strontium, introducing chloride halide to prepare the perovskites in solar cell technology. X-ray diffraction studies were conducted, and EXPO2014 software was utilized to resolve the structure. Chemical characterization was performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photophysical properties were analyzed through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, and photoluminescence properties were determined to confirm the perovskite characteristics.

We use density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the structural, formation energy, hydrogen storage, electronics, thermoelectric and elastic properties of NaXH (X = Be, Mg, Ca, and Sr) hydrides. The band gap is calculated using WC-GGA and WC-GGA+mBJ potentials.

Formamidine lead iodide (FAPbI) quantum dots (QDs) have attracted great attention as a new generation of photovoltaic material due to their long carrier diffusion length, benign ambient stability, and light-harvesting ability. However, its large surface area with inherent thermodynamic instability and highly defective ionic termination are still major obstacles to fabricating high-performance devices. Herein, a metallic ion dopant is developed to post-treat FAPbI QDs immediately after their fabrication by using a metal-glutamate salt solution.

Recently, chalcogenide perovskites, of the form ABX, where typically A = alkaline earth metals Ca, Sr, or Ba; B = group IV transition metals Zr or Hf; and X = chalcogens S or Se, have become of interest for their potential optoelectronic properties. In this work, we build upon recent studies and show a general synthesis protocol, involving the use of carbon disulfide insertion chemistry, to generate highly reactive precursors that can be used towards the colloidal synthesis of numerous ABS nanomaterials, including BaTiS, BaZrS, BaHfS, α-SrZrS and α-SrHfS. We overcome the shortcomings in the current literature where BaZrS nanoparticles are synthesized in separate phases colloidal methods and lack a reproducible protocol for orthorhombic perovskite nanoparticles.

Hybrid metal halides are an extraordinary class of optoelectronic materials with extensive applications. To further diversify and study the in-depth structure-property relations, we report here a new family of 21 zero-dimensional hybrid bimetallic chlorides with the general formula A(L)[BCl] (A=rare earth (RE), alkaline earth metals and Mn; L=solvent ligand; and B=Sb, Bi and Te). The RE(DMSO)[BCl] (RE=La, Ce, Sm, Eu, Tb, and Dy; DMSO=dimethyl sulfoxide) series shows broadband emission attributed to triplet radiative recombination from Sb and Bi, incorporating the characteristic emission of RE metals, where Eu(DMSO)[BiCl] shows a staggering PL quantum yield of 94 %.
