Long bone osteomyelitis could mimic bony tumor in clinical presentation and imaging studies. We present a case of a 47-year man who presented with leg pain, weight loss and night sweats that initially was thought to be related to osteosarcoma, later suffered a pathologic fracture from osteomyelitis. This case highlights the importance of source control of infection and careful clinical evaluation including radiographic and pathologic findings that can help physicians to differentiate between competing diagnoses.

There is no established treatment for late or chronic antibody-mediated rejection of a kidney graft. Rituximab-based treatment is not effective, since long-lived high-affinity plasma cells do not express CD20 and do not depend on previous maturation steps to generate donor-specific antibodies. Conversely, daratumumab, an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody, directly targets plasma cells, with proven efficacy in multiple myeloma.

In this study, we aim to investigate the effects of sedentary behavior (SED) on bone health, as well as the potential favor effects of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and periodic interruptions of SED. To simulate SED, we used small Plexiglas cages (20.

Black-bone silky fowls(Gallus gallus domesticus) have a long history of medicinal use, with the origin in Taihe county, Jiangxi province. The unclear family composition, inbreeding rate, and effective population size were inconducive to the resource conservation or breed improvement of black-bone silky fowls. A genome-wide analysis was performed to evaluate the genetic diversity of 80 black-bone silky fowls from random mating in three farms in 2021 in terms of minor allele frequency(MAF), expected heterozygosity(H_e), observed heterozygosity(H_o), effective population size(N_e), and runs of homozygosity(ROH).

In dental practice, there are two major diseases: dental caries and periodontal disease. Although dental treatment techniques have advanced along with advances in dental materials, some diseases such as root surface caries and horizontal bone resorption have not yet achieved satisfactory treatment results. Since these diseases are infections caused by oral bacteria, we believe that materials with long-lasting antimicrobial properties would help control these diseases.

Ischemic stroke results in significant long-term disability and mortality worldwide. Although existing therapies, such as recombinant tissue plasminogen activator and mechanical thrombectomy, have shown promise, their application is limited by stringent conditions. Mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) transplantation, especially using SB623 cells (modified human bone marrow-derived MSCs), has emerged as a promising alternative, promoting neurogenesis and recovery.
