Introduction: The Retzius-sparing technique for prostate cancer has shown favorable continence recovery outcomes. Magnetic resonance imaging after Retzius-sparing showed that the bladder anterior wall is widely connected to the abdominal wall, which contributes to urinary continence. We aimed to evaluate whether the Peritoneal Fixation technique, which involves suturing the anterior bladder wall onto the abdominal wall above the pubic bone, contributes to the recovery of urinary continence.

Cisplatin (CDDP) remains a key drug for patients with advanced bladder cancer (BC), despite the emergence of new therapeutic agents; thus, the identification of factors contributing to CDDP treatment resistance is crucial. As acidity of the tumor microenvironment has been reported to be associated with treatment resistance and poor prognosis across various cancer types, our objectives in this study were to investigate the effects of an acidic environment on BC cells and elucidate the mechanisms behind CDDP resistance. Our findings show that BC cells cultured under acidic conditions developed cisplatin resistance as acidity increased.

Impaired bladder compliance secondary to congenital or acquired bladder dysfunction can lead to irreversible kidney damage. This is managed with surgical augmentation utilizing intestinal tissue, which can cause stone formation, infections, and malignant transformation. Co-seeded bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)/CD34+ hematopoietic stem cell (HSPC) scaffolds (PRS) have been successful in regenerating bladder tissue.

Urinalysis is one of the predominant tools for clinical testing owing to the abundant composition, sufficient volume, and non-invasive acquisition of urine. As a critical component of routine urinalysis, urine protein testing measures the levels and types of proteins, enabling the early diagnosis of diseases. Traditional methods require three separate steps including strip testing, protein/creatinine ratio measurement, and electrophoresis respectively to achieve qualitative, quantitative, and classification analyses of proteins in urine with long time and cumbersome operations.

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) is strongly recommended by current clinical guidelines for improved detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). However, the major limitations are the need for intravenous (IV) contrast and dependence on reader expertise. Efforts to address these issues include use of biparametric magnetic resonance imaging (bpMRI) and advanced, quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques.
