Background: Thrombotic storm is a series of acute to subacute thrombotic events that evolve over a few days to weeks and result in progressive thromboses at multiple sites. There is often a predisposing event to thromboses, such as trauma or infections. Prompt initiation of anti-coagulation can prove life-saving in such patients.
Case Report: We describe a previously healthy young male who developed thromboses of the right axillary, brachial, radial, and ulnar arteries while bowling in a cricket match. A few hours later, he developed a stroke involving the right anterior and middle cerebral arteries. His thrombophilia workup was significant for elevated homocysteine levels. Although he had a delayed presentation to our hospital, he was treated with anticoagulation and given a trial of thromboembolectomy, which failed and he had to ultimately undergo a right below-elbow guillotine amputation.
Conclusion: Thrombotic storm should be recognized promptly in the Emergency Department and timely anticoagulation should be initiated.

Sepsis is a life-threatening disease characterized by excessive systemic inflammation and coagulopathy. Platelets and neutrophils form a "dangerous alliance" through crosstalk, promoting the inflammatory cytokine storm and coagulation disorders during sepsis. Platelet-neutrophil crosstalk leads to the formation of platelet-neutrophil complexes (PNCs), which are the central "protagonists" of this "dangerous alliance.

Dengue virus (DENV) poses a considerable threat to public health on a global scale, since about two-thirds of the world's population is currently at risk of contracting this arbovirus. Being transmitted by mosquitoes, this virus is associated with a range of illnesses and a small percentage of infected individuals might suffer from severe vascular leakage. This leakage leads to hypovolemic shock syndrome, generally known as dengue shock syndrome, organ failure, and bleeding complications.

Introduction: Thyrotoxicosis is associated with a hypercoagulable state, increasing the risk of thrombotic events like CVST. Literature review reveals thyroid hormone's role in promoting prothrombotic abnormalities, impacting coagulation factors and platelet function.
Case Report: This study explores the rare occurrence of thyroid storm complicated by deep cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) in a young male with no prior history of thyroid disease.
A variety of autoimmune disorders are associated with an increased risk of thrombosis. Previous studies have suggested combined therapy of heparin and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) with fresh frozen plasma (FFP) as the replacement fluid is beneficial in some cases of acute flare-up of autoimmune diseases complicated by thrombotic events. Nevertheless, it remains unknown whether clinicians do more harm than good by exposing patients to a "thrombotic storm" through simultaneous administration of heparin and the clotting factors in the FFP during TPE.

The devastating pandemic of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) began in Wuhan, China, and spread rapidly through most parts of the world in the second half of 2020. The air droplet spread of SARS-CoV-2 is of great global health concern as it is potentially fatal. Various drugs and treatment modalities have been tried to date, but none have been found to be definitive.
