IR spectra (1,600-1,800, 3,100-3,700 cm-1) of tetrachlorethylene solutions of macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin monohydrate and dihydrate, oleandomycin, erythrolose amine and anhydroerythromycin were obtained. The atoms and atomic groups included into the hydrogen bond were determined. It was shown that the antibiotic molecule conformations were stabilized by the intramolecular hydrogen bonds.

This paper presents a comprehensive dataset of mid-infrared spectra for dried and roasted cocoa beans ( L.), along with their corresponding theobromine and caffeine content. Infrared data were acquired using Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, while High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) was employed to accurately quantify theobromine and caffeine in the dried cocoa beans.

2-Cyanoindene is one of the few specific aromatic or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) molecules positively identified in Taurus molecular cloud-1 (TMC-1), a cold, dense molecular cloud that is considered the nearest star-forming region to Earth. We report cryogenic mid-infrared (550-3200 cm) and visible (16,500-20,000 cm, over the ← electronic transition) spectra of 2-cyanoindene radical cations (2CNI), measured using messenger tagging (He and Ne) photodissociation spectroscopy. The infrared spectra reveal the prominence of anharmonic couplings, particularly over the fingerprint region.

Intermolecular hydrogen bonds between carboxyl (COO) and amino groups are a common weak interaction in proteins. Infrared (IR) spectral assignment of such an intermolecular hydrogen bond provides a fingerprint for studying protein-protein interactions as its absorption frequency is affected by the molecular electrostatic environment. Temperature-dependent FTIR and temperature-jump time-resolved IR absorbance difference spectra of several typical amino acids and those of wild type and single-site mutated αB-crystallin were performed.

Within the context of polypropylene recycling by dissolution, the potential degradation of polypropylene in solution has been investigated using in situ NIR and Raman spectroscopy. Pure polypropylene, completely free of additives, and commercial polypropylene, low in additives, are degraded on purpose under different conditions. Genetic algorithm combined with partial least squares (GA-PLS) models have been built based on near-infrared (NIR) spectra, and partial least squares (PLS) models based on Raman spectra, to predict the mass average molar mass and the chain-scission rate, respectively, during the degradation process.
