Women who experience stillbirths are at increased risk for severe maternal morbidity and mortality, which makes the postpartum period a critical time in which to address health conditions and prevent complications. However, research on the health care needs of women who experience stillbirths is scarce, and these women are often excluded from research on the postpartum period. Therefore, the purpose of this commentary is to identify gaps in the research on postpartum care after stillbirth, explain why current fourth trimester care guidelines in the United States are inadequate, and advocate for nursing research and practice to improve understanding of health care needs in the fourth trimester.

Studies investigating the relationship between exposure to air pollutants during pregnancy and foetal growth restriction (FGR) in women who conceive by in vitro fertilisation (IVF) are lacking. The objective was to investigate the effect of air pollutant exposure in pregnancy on FGR in pregnant women who conceive by IVF. We included pregnant women who conceived by IVF and delivered healthy singleton babies in Guangzhou from October 2018 to September 2023.

Introduction: The future of training in second trimester surgical abortions with dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedures faces ongoing legal and political scrutiny; thus, adjuncts to standard clinical experiences are exceedingly important. We sought to build medical trainees' surgical familiarity with D&Es using a realistic simulation model.
Methods: The simulation began with an instructional video reviewing accessible and affordable materials used to build the fetal model (vaginal swabs, styrofoam ball, and putty) and the uterine model (collapsible water bottle).

Pregnancy is a vulnerable time with significant cardiovascular changes that can lead to adverse outcomes, which can extend into the postpartum window. Exposure to emissions from electronic cigarettes (Ecig), commonly known as "vaping," has an adverse impact on cardiovascular function during pregnancy and post-natal life of offspring, but the postpartum effects on maternal health are poorly understood. We used a Sprague Dawley rat model, where pregnant dams are exposed to Ecigs between gestational day (GD)2-GD21 to examine postpartum consequences.

Purpose: Dyslipidemia has been linked to adverse pregnancy outcomes in observational studies. This study aimed to explore how variations in lipid levels during the first trimester might influence early pregnancy loss (EPL).
Methods: Blood samples from pregnant women were analyzed to examine the relationship between EPL and lipid metabolism using logistic regression and restricted cubic splines (RCS).

Objective: The objective is to investigate the differences in urinary organic acid (OA) profiles and metabolism between healthy control (HC) pregnant women and those with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) during the second trimester and third trimester of pregnancy.
Methods: A total of 66 HC pregnant women and 32 pregnant women with GDM were assessed for 107 hydrophilic metabolites in urine samples collected during the second and third trimester of pregnancy using tandem mass spectrometry. The urine OA profiles for each group were obtained, and metabolomic analysis and discussion were conducted.
