Background: Complications are rare after arthroscopic Bankart repair, and as a result, there is a lack of guidance over rates of complications that can be used to consent patients. The purpose of this study is to systematically review the literature to assess the complications after arthroscopic Bankart repair, other than recurrent instability.
Methods: A literature search of MEDLINE, Embase, and the Cochrane Library was performed based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Clinical studies reporting on the complications after arthroscopic Bankart repair were included.
Results: A total of 194 studies were included in the analysis, with 13,979 patients and 14,019 shoulders undergoing arthroscopic Bankart repair. The overall complication rate was 0.67%, with frozen shoulder being the most common complication occurring in 0.32%. Persistent pain occurred in 0.17%. The rates of nerve, hardware, and wound complications were 0.07%, 0.05%, and 0.03%, respectively.
Conclusion: The arthroscopic Bankart repair has a very low rate of complications. Frozen shoulder and persistent pain are the most frequently encountered complications.

Objectives: Anterior shoulder instability with minimal glenoid bone loss has several options for Bankart repair. We aimed to evaluate the results of a modified technique using two anchors with double and single loaded suture (three stitches in total) in arthroscopic Bankart surgery.
Methods: Thirty-eight patients underwent arthroscopic Bankart surgery and were assessed after an average 40 months follow-up.
Background: Clinical studies have shown that the open Latarjet procedure (OLP) has lower recurrence rates than the isolated arthroscopic Bankart (IAB) procedure for recurrent anterior shoulder instability, but no long-term comparative studies exist for IAB in patients without bone loss.
Purpose/hypothesis: This study aimed to compare the outcomes of IAB in selected patients without bone loss versus OLP. The hypothesis was that OLP would be more successful in preventing recurrence, even in carefully selected patients for IAB.
Background: Traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation is the most common type of joint dislocation, with an incidence of 11 to 29 per 100 000 persons per year. Controversy still surrounds the recommendations for treatment and the available procedures for surgical stabilization.
Methods: This review is based on pertinent publications (2014-2024) that were retrieved by a selective search in the PubMed and Google Scholar databases.
