Conventional textiles are inadequate for maintaining warmth in extremely cold conditions. Therefore, the development of photo-thermal fibers for personal thermal management textiles has emerged as an urgent need. Herein, novel chitosan/copper sulfide nanoparticles (CS/CuSNPs) hybrid fibers with photo-thermal function were fabricated successfully. Significantly, our study demonstrated that the tensile and photo-thermal conversation properties of the CS/CuSNPs hybrid fibers could be effectively regulated by altering the CuSNPs` morphological structures. Compared with other CuSNPs (tube-like, sphere-like, and flower-like), the plate-like CuSNPs with smooth surfaces and uniform nanometer size played a significant role by scattering incident light in the fibers as a secondary light source for CuSNPs absorbance. Thus, under IR light irradiation at a power density of 1.0 W/cm, the surface temperature of CS/0.1 wt% plate-like CuSNPs hybrid fibers sharply increased by 27.6 °C, which was more than 4 times of the pure CS fibers. And the breaking strength and initial modulus of CS/0.1 wt% plate-like CuSNPs hybrid fibers increased by more than 18.37 and 6.88 % compared with the nascent CS fibers. This study develops a novel and effective strategy to tune the photo-thermal and tensile properties of CS hybrid fibers without incorporating more content or additives.

Electrospun fibrous materials with fine fibers and small pores are fundamental for particulate matter (PM) filtration, addressing its harmful environmental and health impacts. However, the existing electrospun fibers are still limited to their sub-micron diameters and unstable surface electrostatic effect, leading to deteriorated filtration performance after prolonged storage or wetting. Herein, the study creates nanofibrous membranes with long-time stable electrostatics by electret-enhanced electrospinning.

Agricultural waste or agro-waste, including natural fibers and particles from various crop parts, is increasingly recognized as a significant contributor to environmental issues. However, from a circular economy perspective, these materials present an opportunity to be repurposed into new, eco-friendly products. The present study, specifically focuses on understanding the effect of different factors, such as the particulate loading and the size (coir and hBN - 1 to 5 wt%; Coir Powder size (100-200 μm) of the particles on composite's corrosion rates and water absorption properties.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of CFR-PEEK nails in patients with metastatic bone disease (MBD). We performed a retrospective cohort study evaluating patients with MBD undergoing intramedullary (IM) nailing for prophylaxis or fixation of pathological fractures using CFR- PEEK or titanium implants.

Electronic grade hydrogen peroxide plays a crucial role in the fabrication of large-scale integrated circuits. However, hydrogen peroxide prepared by the anthraquinone method contains impurities such as lead ions (Pb) and phosphate, which can seriously affect the yield of the circuit. Traditional adsorbent materials have difficulty in solving the problem of simultaneous adsorption of trace anions and cations in hydrogen peroxide due to the single adsorption site and poor adsorption kinetics.

The development of advanced bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) and oxygen evolution reactions (OER) is crucial for the practical application of zinc-air batteries (ZABs). Herein, porous carbon nanosheets integrated with abundant graphene-wrapped CoO and CoNx (CoO/CoNx-C) were successfully fabricated through a simple one-step pyrolysis. With convenient porous channel and large accessible surface, abundant CoO/CoNx species and graphene wrapping structure, CoO/CoNx-C exhibited a half-wave potential of 0.
