is a widely cultivated jelly mushroom. The fruiting bodies are categorized into cluster and chrysanthemum types. With changing consumer demands and the need to reduce bio-waste, the demand for clustered fruiting bodies is increasing. Therefore, gene mining for fruiting body types is a matter of urgency. We determined that the locus for fruiting body type was located at one end of the genetic linkage map. The locus was localized between the markers D23860 and D389 by increasing the density of the genetic linkage map. BlastN alignment showed that the marker SCL-18 was also located between D23860 and D389, and a total of 25 coding genes were annotated within this interval. Through parental transcriptome analysis and qRT-PCR verification, the locus g7219 was identified as the gene controlling the fruiting body type. A single-nucleotide substitution in the TATA box of g7219 was detected between the parents. By PCR amplification of the promoter region of g7219, the TATA-box sequences of the cluster- and chrysanthemum-type strains were found to be CATAAAA and TATAAAA, respectively. This study provides a foundation for the breeding of fruiting body types and strain improvement of .

With praziquantel being the sole available drug for schistosomiasis, identifying novel anthelmintic agents is imperative. A chemical investigation of the fruiting body of the bioluminescent mushroom Berk. resulted in the isolation of new conjugated long-chain fatty acids (8,10,12,13)-12,13-dihydroxy-7-oxo-octadeca-8,10-dienoic acid () and (7,8,9,11)-7,8-dihydroxy-13-oxo-octadeca-9,11-dienoic acid () and three previously described compounds, (7,8,9)-7,8-dihydroxyoctadec-9-enoic acid (), (2)-dec-2-ene-1,10-dioic acid (), and a ketolactone marasmeno-1,15-dione ().

Background: Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a systemic metabolic disease with a variable number and type of clinical symptoms mostly impacting the brain. Skin carotenoid content (SCC) is an objective measure of carotenoid-containing fruit and vegetable intake that has been validated in diverse populations. Our previous findings suggest SCC scores differ between older adults with and without AD regardless of dietary intake of carotenoids.

Introduction: This case report describes a rare instance of small bowel obstruction (SBO) caused by the ingestion of a whole Shine-Muscat grape in a 7-month-old infant. This case adds to the scientific literature by highlighting the potential risk of common fruits, such as grapes, in causing serious gastrointestinal blockages in pediatric patients, which is an uncommon but important consideration for pediatricians and caregivers.

Main Symptoms And Clinical Findings: A 7-month-old female presented with a 3-day history of vomiting, which progressed to bilious vomiting, accompanied by abdominal distension and dehydration.

Stroke is the second-leading cause of death worldwide, including in Syria, and the third-leading cause of death and disability combined. With approximately 90% of strokes worldwide linked to modifiable risk factors, identifying and quantifying these factors within a specific population is essential for effective prevention. This is the first study to investigate primary risk factors for stroke in Syria.
