This research explores the influence of different dual donors on the effectiveness of dye sensitizers. We selected 35 diverse donors to construct Y-type dual donor-based dyes, connecting them with thiophene as the π-spacer and cyanoacrylic acid as the acceptor. Density functional theory calculations indicate that these dual donor-based dyes exhibit superior optoelectronic properties compared to their single donor counterparts. Notably, significant variations in charge distribution among the different dual donors affect their donor capabilities. Our calculations specifically highlight the enhanced thermodynamic parameters, including light harvesting efficiency (LHE), the free energy of dye injection (Δ), and regeneration (Δ), for donor moieties containing nitrogen atoms, such as NS-3 (,-dimethylaniline), NS-5 (diphenylamine), NS-6 (triphenylamine), and NS-8 (4-methoxy--(4-methoxyphenyl)--phenylaniline). These results suggest that nitrogen-containing donor moieties act as promising candidates for donors for efficient dye sensitizers. However, further experimental validation in the near future will be necessary to confirm our findings.

Conn's syndrome, defined as unilateral aldosterone-producing adenoma, accounts for 35-40% of cases of primary hyperaldosteronism. Primary hyperaldosteronism typically occurs in younger patients with poorly controlled arterial hypertension due to extracellular fluid retention, in whom at least a triple combination of antihypertensives, including a diuretic, is needed to maintain normotension. The clinical picture of arterial hypertension may be complemented by symptoms associated with hypokalaemia, such as weakness, fatigue, palpitations, convulsions, polydipsia, or polyuria.

Critical limb ischemia, the final course of peripheral artery disease, is characterized by an insufficient supply of blood flow and excessive oxidative stress. H S molecular therapy possesses huge potential for accelerating revascularization and scavenging intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS). Moreover, it is found that BMP6 is the most significantly up-expressed secreted protein-related gene in HUVECs treated with GYY4137, a H S donor, based on the transcriptome analysis.

Bromodomain protein 4 (BRD4) is an attractive epigenetic target that regulating diverse cellular processes, and the discovery of dual-target inhibitors including BRD4 is an effective approach in cancer treatment to increase potency and reduce drug resistance. Based on the multifunctional drug development strategy, a series of new derivatives of nitrooxy (ONO) or furoxan (1,2,5-oxadiazole 2-oxide) with BRD4 inhibitor capable of inhibiting BRD4 and simultaneously releasing NO were designed and synthesized. When NO concentrations were measured with Griess reagent under physiological conditions, all compounds released NO at micromolar levels, reaching effective antitumor concentrations.

Currently, very limited therapeutic approaches are available for the drug treatment of atherosclerosis(AS). HS-donor is becoming a common trend in much life-threatening research. Several studies have documented that HS-lyase is predominantly present in endothelial cells.
