Background: Post-COVID19 syndrome is characterized by signs and symptoms that occur within 3 months of the onset of COVID19 acute phase and last at least 2 months. In the past 3 years, cognitive impairment has frequently been associated with COVID19 with descriptions of attentional, executive, memory, and language disorders. Boarding of admitted patients in the Emergency Department (ED) changes both the setting and teams providing care during the initial phase of admissions. We measured the waiting time from ED door arrival to inpatient floor arrival for 17,944 admissions to internal medicine services over a 5-year period from 2018 to 2023 and propose this as a metric for the total delay in care associated with ED boarding, termed "Door to Floor" (DTF) time. We find a sustained increase as well as significant seasonal and day-of-the-week variation in DTF times.

Millions of Americans endure post-COVID conditions (PCC), yet research often lacks pre-illness measurements, relying primarily on follow-up assessments for analysis. The study aims to examine the prevalence of PCC, including cognitive impairment, functional limitation, and depressive symptoms, along with relevant risk factors, while controlling for individuals' pre-illness status measured in 2018. A cross-sectional retrospective study utilized the 2018 and 2020 Health and Retirement Study surveys.
